Why her?

Luke's POV

We arrive at the hospital and Clary is there, sleeping peacefully. No sign of Sebastian, and now that I think about it, anyone. Where's Simon, Isabelle, Alexander? "Jace, where's simon and them?" I ask

"We decided to tell them after she is better, no need to stress Simon with his training, Isabelle with her tutoring, and Alec with the wedding." He simply says

"Wedding??" I ask shocked.

"Oh, Magnus proposed to Alec last month. Alec insists on planning it and not have any magic to do with it. Sense Alec's dad is the inquisitor, they are aloud to marry. Great isn't it?" he says

"Ah, good for them." I say "I'm going to call Jocelyn and tell her to come here as soon as possible. I'll be back."

"Okay, I'll be here." he replies.

I walk into the lobby and dual Jocy's number and wait for her to answer. But she doesn't... "hello "father" took you long enough. I've been here for over an hour." Sebastian spits.

"Sebastian. What are you doing to her!?" I yell

"Nothing yet, unless I get what I want. Which is Clary of course." He says

"No way, not a chance in hell." I spit back. Who does he think he is? I'm a werewolf. I'll hunt him down and rip his throat out with my teeth.

"Tsk tsk. What a shame. It always has to be the mom to pay for other people's mistakes. Don't you think?" he says evilly.

"Listen. You let her go now. You can't have her or Clary or anyone." I say "give up now and you'll most likely live to see another day."

"My my what big words for someone to say over the phone." Sebastian says more as a statement. Then he hung up

"No!" I yell, I can't lose her again.

Suddenly Jace runs in. "What happened?" He says out of breath "is Jocelyn okay?"

"No... he has her. Her! Again. We thought he would go right for Clary, but again we are pawns in this game of his." I say, feeling tears and anger.

"Hey? We will get her back. We got her back the first time, second should be a blast." he says reassuringly.

"Okay, you're right." I say "lets keep this between us. Clary has a lot going on right now."

"Yes, I know." He starts "but don't you think she will need her mother when she gets out?"

"Then she will be better and ready to hear it by then. Hopefully." I ask, hopeful.

"Whatever you say."

"Well, I have to call Maia, she will want to know all of what just happened. Talk to you later" I say pulling out my phone.

"Okay, let me know how it goes." he shoots back
