Happy birthday love! Message me your birthdays so you can spend a special chapter with your favorite characters :)
03/15/XX
Today is my birthday. I don't think Sal or the boys know or remember because I beat the shit out of Travis that one time in highschool. It was a good day. But since that day I haven't been celebrating it much. There's no reason too really. Ash and I haven't talked much since we separated for college but we still keep in touch. She hasn't said anything about today being my birthday so maybe she forgot.
There were wet drops and splattered ink on the page now. Zhaen was sitting there smiling but crying. She really wanted to spend her birthday with her friends or her family but she didn't wanna bother anyone. She has some family and all but would rather die than go back to them. She lost the one that was most important to her. One she was closest too. She rather get pushed from a window again. Then go back.
Anyways, she was sitting there and silently crying. Smiling. She wiped her cheeks and took a deep breath.
"Turn them off Zhaen, turn off the waterworks." She told herself. She has learned to contain her emotions but that only works for so long until all the emotions she locks away explodes. She chuckles a bit. A sad chuckle, "I am such a hypocrite huh Sam? Telling Sally Face he shouldn't bottle up his feelings."
Ding~ Dong~
Zhaen had put her journal away and wiped her face. She let out a sigh took deep breaths. She smiled and looked through the hole in the door.
"Who is it?"
"Who else would it be bish?" She heard a familiar, almost edgy, voice come from the other side of the door. She opens it and nodded. In front of her was a much older, still gay, Larry. His hair had been at shoulder length since that's where he decides to keep it for now on. He was taller as well.
"Well, I wasn't really expecting anyone. So no one? I guess." She said as she invited him in. Larry walked in and smiled. Zhaen no longer lived in the apartments that were close to Nockfell high. She had her own house and a room mate although he was never home.
"Ah, I see. Well I just wanted to pop by and hand you this." Larry handed Zhaen a white and clean invitation.
"What is it?" She said as she closely examined the elegant handy work.
"It's an invitation to a party. It's one of Sal's friends birthday today and we are celebrating it tonight. It's gonna be grand and elegant at first but there will be an after party. But it's a surprise ok?" Larry said as he held his finger to his face and winked.
Seems they did forget huh Zhaen?
You know, She thought to the voice within her, I could do without your feedback alright? Don't forget, you are only here to save my friends.
Yes, and look where it got you? Forgotten birthday. Forgotten birthday girl.
Zhaen could feel a lump in her throat and shook her head. She let out a bright and fake smile. Larry smiling back, "I can't wait to go. Don't worry, I can totally keep a secret!"
I can see that, isn't this the same as lying Zhaen?
I'm not forgotten, nor am I lying. Just keeping a secret.
Same thing. I will leave but be back. Try not to die without me. I want a front row seat.
"Just go away so I can take my meds." She accidentally said aloud. Larry frowned and looked over at her.
"What? You started taking those again??? Have people been giving you a hard time again?" He said. Completely ignoring the face she basically accidentally told him to go away. She just shrugged then shook her head.
"Hm? I decided that after I had gotten out of the hospital after highschool that it might be best to stay on my meds. I...."
I haven't been seeing anything. But that's because it's being blocked b-
By me~? Hah.
Exactly.
"I have been getting a lot more sleep recently. They help since I was always so tired in the hospital remember?" She said and Larry's smile returned. He nodded and let out a sigh of relief.
"Sounds about right. So?? I will see you tonight?" He said as he turned on his heel. He was either going to school or going home to see Sal. I seem them posting their selfies all the time on MaskBook but it's cute. I'm not complaining.
"Hm? Yeah, is Ash coming?" She said. Zhaen really wanted to see her since Ash is always so busy. She has been featured in many photography based magazines and hasn't had much time for Zhaen or anyone. Larry seethed through his teeth then shook his head.
"Nope, sorry Zhaen. Ash won't be coming. I invited her but she said she was too busy. Apologizing that she wouldn't be able to make it. And I-Zhaen!? Are you ok?"
No, I'm not ok. I'm hurt...forgotten.
Dead on the inside.
The voice said again then chuckled.
"Hm? I am fine." Zhaen said as she put her hand to her nose. Realizing her nose bleed.
"I get them all the time. School has really been stressing me out ya know?" She lied. She gently pushed Larry towards the door, "Welp, I am super tired and if I wanna show up tonight? Then I should get some rest right?!"
Zhaen and Larry said their goodbyes. Zhaen closes the door and sinks to the floor.
"Why can't you just leave me alone. I want to see them again. Is that too much to ask?"
It is when you striked a deal with me.
She lets out a sigh then gets up. Walking to her room.
"Well, at least on New Years Eve Ash was right..."
Hm?
"She really is dating a demon..."
To be continued...
