Jolting up, I bashed my head off Shikamaru's, causing him to tumble back and me to fall back onto the grass.

"Ow—man—Y/n, what was that for?!" he exclaimed, rubbing his forehead. I sat up also rubbing my head.

"Well, that's what you get for being so close and startling me the minute I wake up!" I shot back at him. He just sighed at my response.

"You were tossing and turning like you were having a nightmare," Choji's voice hit my ears, I turned to see everyone looking at me concerned. Even Kiba. That ass has the energy to be concerned after what he said about me.

Damnit—

"I was?" I asked confused before recalling the dream I was having and winced as my head kept aching.

"There you are—" Iruka sensei appeared, tired, and dishevelled like he'd been running around for ages, "y/n, you're needed in the Hokage's office."

"Understood. Excuse me then," I said, standing up and dusting myself down before using Iruka's shadow and moved to Lord Hokage's shadow.

"Thank you for coming. You must be, y/n. I have something important to discuss with you," the old man, Hiruzen Sarutobi the Third Hokage, told me, turning around from where he was gazing out the window and motioned for me to take a seat on the matt opposite from his. I took a seat, and he also sat down. For a while he just stared at me in silence while I just watched him confused.

"H-how can I help you?" I asked him, starting to feel insecure from his never broken stare. He coughed and then sighed.

"This is about your Father, and your future here at the village," he said, his tone grim and suddenly I found myself shaking out of fear to have to run around looking for a place to stay for the night without being attacked by those people again.

"Whatever I did, I'm sorry but please—" I started before he chuckled heartily and looked at me with a smile.

"This is nothing of issue. Your Father has returned to his place within our shinobi ranks. As for you, that means you'll probably find yourself alone often, but considering your godmother isn't in the village, you can't exactly stay with her so. Y/n, when your Dad is on missions, you will stay in your home but under the watch of your parents' closest friends, the Naras. Something he made clear to me," he told me, making it clear there was no room for objection.

Out of all the information he told me, I was more curious about my godmother though. I didn't know much about her but had heard she was a strong woman with brute strength and outstanding healing jutsu. Apparently she was quite the gambler though, always left with debts all around the world... my Mother spoke highly of her, after all, my godmother was also her sensei in the healing jutsu, they were apparently very close, and she was the reason why my Mother even came to Konohagakure anyway.

I hope to meet her one day.

"Y/n?" the Hokage called me, snapping me out of my thoughts, "do you understand? Are you ok with this?"

He's asking that like I have any other choice.

"I suppose, it's only for missions, nothing long term so it's all good," I replied with a bored shrug.

"Ok then, off you go, go home. There's no point you going back to the academy when it finishes in a few minutes," he told me me, I nodded and started to walk out of the office but stopped when I heard him speak up again, "it was lovely to meet you, y/n. I hope you find a home in our village."

I glanced over at him from over my shoulder and nodded, "thank you, sir."

With that, I left the room and returned to my house to find my Dad on the front yard, pulling weeds out the ground angrily.

Wasn't he on a mission?

"Stupid weeds won't stop growing everywhere," he grumbled, I crouched down and started helping, "oh, welcome home, y/n. Mission was a lot easier than I expected."

"Right... glad you're back, Dad. But hey, I'm curious, the Hokage spoke with me about our new situation in the village now you're a ninja again an' all," I started, he just hummed to tell me to continue with my thought, "he also mentioned my godmother. Can you tell me more about her? Other than the stuff Mother has already told me? You must've known her too."

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt for me to tell you about her. I'm sure she's dead by now anyway, with how reckless she was and how old she is, time and luck is not on her side," my Dad said, shrugging and picking up the weeds. We both threw them into the bin and then moved to the back garden, sitting on a random wooden platform that stood on stilts over the large lake that I imagine my Dad grew up training on when he was here.

"Her name was Tsunade. Your Mother looked up to her a lot. They were almost like sisters, so you can imagine when I proposed to your Mother, Tsunade was on my back in a flash with all those threats that she would definitely put into place if she had the chance," he started, pulling his shoes and socks off before dipping his feet into the water.

"You mean the Sannin Tsunade?" I asked him, he nodded, and I stared in awe, to think he knew this woman.

"You see, there are three Sannin of the Leaf village. Orochimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade. Orochimaru went rogue and Jiraiya and Tsunade both took a student. Jiraiya, the fourth Hokage, and Tsunade, your Mother. Tsunade and m/n hated each other to begin with, causing the third Hokage a headache every time he saw them because he knew they were coming to complain," Dad told me, chuckling to himself as he spoke, "But no matter how much, he forced them to stick together until one day they were on a mission, and they got attacked. Tsunade froze up because of some unknown fear and m/n protected her with all the strength she could muster. They returned with a new bond."

"Who was your sensei?" I asked, he just looked up and sighed.

"My Dad, but that's not the topic here. Anyway, to continue. Ever since then, Tsunade and m/n had been close and were almost inseparable, Tsunade taught m/n everything she knew, and they both made a promise to protect each other no matter the cause. So when your Mother and I left the village, Tsunade joined us. We all travelled for a while, a married couple and a single Sannin. A truly strange sight to see for sure," he continued, "I remembered, when we got married, on our wedding day just after the ceremony, m/n dragged me over to Tsunade and forced me to ask her to be the godmother of our child. Instantly I got punched in the face. Literally no hesitation."

I laughed and imagined my Dad being punched halfway across a room because of the way he worded his sentences.

"Once the misunderstanding of m/n being pregnant was cleared, she apologised, healed me up and then agreed to becoming our child's godmother. To this day, I don't know where she is, I don't know what she's doing, but one thing I definitely do know is, when she finally meets you, that's if she's still alive, you'll both love each other very much. Even if I have to get pummelled for m/n's death before she actually gets around to meeting you," he finally finished.

"That's nice and all, but what does she look like?" I asked, he just sighed and started thinking.

"I believe she wore a lot of green, long blonde hair, always tied up. She has a little diamond in the middle of her forehead and a very evil face," he told me, running his hand through his hair as he remembered the lady he spoke of with a fond smile from all the memories.

"She sounds great," I smiled and before looking out over the lake and looking at my Dad before I stood up, "can teach me some jutsu?"

"Sure."
