3rd Person PoV

Jiraiya seemed to figure something out just as one of the Pains grabbed his throat and then the other two crushed him into a rock.

Both y/n and Kistov were too busy fighting the two they had in front of them to notice the Sannin struggling against his death.

The Pain fighting Kistov jumped away and joined the other three around Jiraiya just as y/n sent a wave of ice towards the one she was fighting.

"You figured it out too late!" one of them said. This caught y/n's attention just as they separated to show Jiraiya had four chakra rods sticking out of his back just as y/n had in her stomach.

"Jiraiya!" she screamed, the ice spread from her feet and up the pain she was fighting but stopping at his torso as she jumped over to Jiraiya, slightly hovering before hitting the Pains away with her wings.

"Jiraiya boy!" Pa was repeating it over and over as y/n knelt next to him.

Her wave of ice crumbled into crystals like it wasn't there at all before, leaving the sky to shimmer and shine as the small shards of ice fell and sunk into the murky waters below.

Jiraiya tried to talk but failed to make much more than a struggled noise.

"Guardian!" Kistov shouted, he'd started to fade, "your chakra is unbalanced. I cannot stay much longer."

"Just go now! And, Kistov, my name is y/n. Thank you for coming even if it was a small amount of time," y/n looked at the teen, he stopped standing in his fighting stance, bowed and then disappeared in a flash of light just as he had appeared only moments earlier.

Y/n slapped Jiraiya just as he was losing consciousness.

"Like hell you're dying here," she snapped at him, "Don't give up, Jiraiya. What about Naruto? Remember? You told me he was your Godson! Don't abandon him now! Stay awake!"

Pa looked at her before she started to chill the old Sannin's body in hopes the sudden temperature drop with shock him awake for a longer period of time.

"What about Tsunade? The village? Your books? Your adventures?" y/n continued, keeping him awake every time her voice shot another shout at him. She was just talking to keep him awake now. The longer she could, the more she had the time to figure out how to shadow hop with two.

But the white-haired man just pushed himself up.

"Jiraiya boy," Pa called him, he got a look shot at him from the Sannin and nodded, "right."

He jumped off the man's shoulder and pulled his cloak off before turning his back to Jiraiya and looking up at y/n.

She looked between the two of them confused as Jiraiya started burning something onto Pa's back. The old frog looked at Jiraiya and he pointed at y/n as the Pains started to return to finish Jiraiya and the girl off.

Y/n glanced back at them and threw her hands forward, they cut through the surface of the water that'd pooled around them and sent a wall of ice shooting towards them.

"Right, message received," Pa confirmed before looking at the girl grabbing her.

"What're you doing?!" she shouted as the ice shattered and the Pains continued their advance.

"Just hold on, y/n girl," he told her before transporting them away as the Pains reached where they'd been moments before.

"No!" her voice echoed to nothing as she threw her hand towards Jiraiya, hoping to grab him at the last moment.
