I walked aimlessly for about two weeks before I finally reached a mountain that was tall enough and high past the clouds.

If my speculations are correct, then I'm almost certain that the rest of my family will be on a mountain where the peak cannot be see because there's a thick layer of clouds in the way.

If so, then it's time to start climbing.

"Still," I paused at the base and looked up, letting out a low whistle, "that's one tall ass mountain. Damn."

Shikamaru's PoV

"Shikamaru!" my Mum called me, I groaned and got up, walking in to see her with a plate of biscuits. I swear to god, I know what she's going to do.

"Go give these to the sand ninja will you?" she asked me, I glared at the plate in annoyance before sighing and taking it, walking out my house and heading towards their hotel room.

It's been two weeks since y/n left and it's been one week since Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro had arrived here. This time it wasn't to stir trouble, it was because they're taking the chuunin exams again. My Mum had taking an unbearable liking to Temari, and I've been their messenger slave for those days.

"Temari!" I called, knocking on the door. She opened it and watched me exhaustedly, "my Mum made more cookies. Here."

She took them.

"See you around," I sighed, shoving my hands in my pocket and walking away.

"Why don't you come in, Shikamaru?" she offered, I looked at her and shook my head.

"No thanks. That'll just be a drag to explain later," I told her before walking away to meet up with Asuma sensei, Choji, and Ino.

"Shikamaru, you've been in a slump for the past two weeks, want to tell me what's up?" Asuma asked as we all ate.

"He misses y/n," Ino cut in before I could say anything.

"Me? Miss that troublesome woman? You've got to be joking," I tried to protest but felt someone kick me.

"Don't try to lie," Choji teamed up with Ino. I just sighed.

"What a pain," I grumbled.

"Well, he didn't deny it," Choji said with a smirk, wrapping his arm around my neck while stuffing a crisp(/chip) into his mouth.

"You know Temari has taken a liking to you, don't you?" Ino asked me as we all left the village for our mission.

"I hadn't noticed," I replied sarcastically.

"What're you going to do?" Asuma sensei asks me, I shrugged, "well, don't string her along and then remember, y/n will also be back in a few years."

What is this? Relationship counselling 101?

I just replied with a lazy grunt as I shrugged Choji off me and shove my hands into my pockets.

I know how to treat females.

But these two aren't exactly weak.

Especially y/n.

I have a strange feeling that when she gets home, she'll be able to kick Lady Tsunade's ass all around the village without issue.
