"Hello, Mum and Dad," I knelt in front of the K.I.A stone, a bouquet of flowers in my hands, "I came here a while ago, when I returned to the village. I brought Honoko with me last time but didn't talk, she did all the talking, she usually does. You know it, Dad. How are you both? I—you were right, Dad. I fell in love with Shikamaru and now, if you didn't know, I'm dating him."

The wind flew by, and it almost felt like someone was sat in front of me, listening closely.

"I met Sora—well, Uncle Sora. He looks and sounds exactly like you, Dad, but his personality is completely opposite to you. Mina is a lovely lady as well. Then you've got their children, then a ton of other people," I continued before sighing, "not going to lie, I'm glad to be back here. But being here is also stressful. Being a Snowflake Guardian is just stressing me out. I'm in the bingo book now..."

A fact I'm still in disbelief over.

"But you're strong. You'll be fine," I heard someone's voice and quickly turned to see Shikamaru was approaching me.

"You here to see someone?" I asked, he nodded his head and knelt down in front of the stone with me.

"Long time no see, f/n," he said, I smiled as I looked out of the corner of my eyes, "she's already told you that we're dating. I asked you a while back, about two years ago. I guess her response was your blessing, so I thank you."

Shikamaru took my hands and pulled the bouquet out of them with a small smile to me before turning and placing them on the stone before saying goodbye and grabbing my hand again, pulling me up and starting to lead me out of the graveyard again.

"Somehow Ino found out," he whispered.

"Ino found out what?" I asked.

"That we're dating?" he told me. I smiled.

"So?" I asked, "we should probably get to your parents before she does then."

"You're right. What a drag," he muttered before leading me to the street that led to his parents' house.

Eventually we reached the house just as Ino was coming around the corner. On sight she squealed loudly and ran over to us.

"It's true!" she shouted and dragged me from Shikamaru.

"Ino," I say, "release."

"But—"

"Release." I repeated. She let me go and looked at me with a strange expression.

"So..?" she asked. I sighed.

"Just—Just wait here a minute," Shikamaru told her before grabbing me and pulling me into the Nara house. I'll have bruises tonight, I can already feel them... I hate being pulled around like this. I'm not some immovable object. Goddamn.

"Mum! Dad!" Shikamaru shouted as we entered the house, the two appeared in the doorway, "take a seat, we have news."

"News?" Shikaku questioned before grabbing Yoshino and leading us all into the living room. The two adults took a seat while Shikamaru stood in front of them while I sat beside Shikaku.

"So... I confessed my feelings to y/n," he started, Yoshino quickly got visibly excited but Shikaku covered her mouth so Shikamaru could continue, "that was the day she came over here for dinner. Yesterday I asked her to be my girlfriend."

"What did she say?" Yoshino managed to slip out of Shikaku's grasp before looking past him to me, "what did you say?"

I smiled stood again, patting Shikamaru's shoulder to tell him to let me and then leaned to her ear before whispering my answer to her. I stepped away and she seemed to just be frozen before she jumped up and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I said yes," I confirmed what Shikaku was thinking, he smiled and joined the hug. I'm being squashed.

I looked over Shikaku's shoulder to Shikamaru for help. He sighed and grabbed my wrist before pulling me out of the hug and to his side again.

"Shikamaru is all grown up now," Yoshino whined through tears.

"Don't cry, Mum," Shikamaru sighed slightly cringing.

"You've got your own home, a girlfriend. You don't need us anymore," she said through her uncontrollable sobs. I poked Shikamaru in the side teasingly.

"Stop it, you," he responded to my poke, letting me go and hugging his Mum before moving away and sighing, "we have a troublesome woman outside waiting for us. We'll be off."

"Ok, don't have too much fun," Shikaku replied with a wink. I don't know what he was hinting at, but I honestly don't really want to either. Shikamaru flushed a light red and shot a glare at his Dad before pushing me out of the house.

"What did he mean?" I asked.

"You don't want to know," he shook his head as we met Ino out front.

"So?" Ino looked at us expectantly.

"Yes, we're dating," I nodded at her. She squealed again and grabbed me.

"We have to tell Choji and Asuma!" she shouted almost inaudibly because it was so high pitched. I shook my head.

"I have someone I need to see. He's coming here soon so I must meet him. Excuse me," I waved at them and then stepped into Ino's shadow and went to the gates of Konoha to meet Jiraiya when he arrived. I could sense his chakra approaching, they'll be here in 10 minutes.

Shikamaru's PoV

Him?

Who's she meeting?

I frowned at Ino's shadow where y/n had just flashed away in.

"I know that expression," Ino pipes up, "Shikamaru is jealous of this 'him'."

"I am not," I shot back.

"Sure. So... are you coming to spy on her with me or...?" she asked, I looked at her and sighed.

"Only because I'm worried she's doing something stupid," I agreed.

"Shikamaru is a lovesick puppy," she mocked.

"Shut up. Why're women so troublesome?" I muttered, shoving my hands in my pockets and following Ino who was just guessing she was going to the gates because y/n said the person is coming here soon.

"Shikamaru!" someone shouted, I looked back to see Temari.

"Man, I forgot she was here," I grumbled.

"What a great escort you are," Ino teased.

"Guess I've got to do my job. I'll have to drop on that thing we were going to do," I sighed.

"I'll tell you everything," Ino winked before she dashed away leaving me to walk with Temari.

"So there's a rumour," Temari spoke up, I looked at her in curiosity, "that you and some girl are dating?"

"She's not some girl. She's my girl," I corrected her.

"So you are dating someone?" she asked a little surprised and sad?

"Yes I am, why?" I asked.

"Didn't think you'd get off your high horse to date someone," she suddenly found her playful self.

"Ha, ha, very, very funny," I mumbled as we were walking through the streets. We eventually turned a corner to the street leading directly to the gates.

Perfect, actually.

"Time to go," she mumbled. Y/n was there with two people, one of them ran off and she stood around with the other for a bit before they both disappeared.

"Oh it's y/n!" Temari smiled brightly at the sight of the girl before frowning, "well, it was y/n. I didn't know she was here..."

"She returned a while back," I told her.

"I see..."

"Anyway, have a safe journey home. See you at the chuunin exams," I said, she nodded and waved.

"Bye," she said before I turned and left her back into the village and into the direction y/n had gone with that guy.
