Alex
Ethan and I were looking at each other for countless seconds. His eyes were so beautiful. I've never seen them so warm. "Ethan, come here!" Jackson yelled loudly. I jumped slightly, ripping my eyes and hand from him. He gave me one last glance before walking in the direction of Jackson's voice and I followed. Once we got there, he and Grayson were both arguing.
"He cheated didn't he!" Grayson yelled pointing at the tv. I swear this kid can't use an inside voice.
"Ethan, bro look at the score! I didn't cheat he's just ass at this game!"Jackson yelled back, causing me to laugh quietly at them.
"Oh my god," Ethan groaned, shaking his head. "Do you want to go upstairs?" He asked me as he laughed at them with me.
"Sure," I replied. I can't lie and say I'm not tired, but a part of my stomach flipped hearing those words come out of his mouth. I got stares from the other two, but I tried my best to ignore them.
We got up to Ethan's room and I sat on his bed. "I could fall asleep sitting up." I admitted, letting out a tired breath.
"Are you ready to go to bed?" He asked, grabbing a blanket and laying it on the floor.
"What are you doing?" I asked as I laughed at his actions.
"Making a palate on the floor so you can have the bed." He responded nonchalantly, getting pillows.
"Ethan I'm not afraid to sleep in the bed with a guy. I'm not going to impose in your house, then make you sleep on the floor." I responded, causing his head to snap up with a smile on his face.
"You don't have to tell me twice." He laughed, putting the blankets away and plopping his body beside me.
I pulled the blanket over me, laid on my back, and began looking up at the ceiling. He leaned up and turned off his lamp, and the room filled with darkness. My heart rate picked up just from the silence and darkness.
After a few minutes of silence, he spoke. "What exactly happened at home?" He asked, turning to face me. I stayed laying on my back. I don't even know if I want to tell him. He barely knows anything about me, if I told him he might look at me differently. Pity is the worst response from people. I'm thankful I didn't get that from Elena when I opened up.
"It's not exactly slumber party chit-chat. Also, if I told you, you might not look at me the same... and that's no fun, is it?" I tried joking with him, but he just stared at me. I turned back toward the ceiling and moved my hair off of my chest.
"Try me," He responded in a confident tone. Feeling his eyes on me has to be one of the most electrifying feelings I have ever felt.
"My brother and I got into a big fight. I asked him a serious question that I deserved the answer to, and he wouldn't tell me. Not to mention he totally betrayed me." I whispered, reliving the pain just talking about it.
"What was the question?" Ethan asked quietly.
"I asked him why my mom left. Turns out, he knows why she did, and he won't tell me. Not to mention he has been speaking to her behind my back." It sounds like a jumbled mess, but I don't exactly know the details of the story I'm telling.
