She pointed at the door and winked, Linda took her gaze away and turned to the direction she was pointing at.

«Excuse me, am I late? Oh seems like I am.»

The tall man entered the room and closed the door behind him, his eyes on Linda.

«We didn't start yet, we were waiting for you.» said Ursula and Linda got up to greet the man who seemed like her future coworker.

«Linda Evans, I am honored to work wit-»

«Kim Mingyu.» the girl cut him off and responded to his handshake, she smiled and so did he.

«Oh you remember me?»

The man smiled widely, he was a big fan of hers and admired her work, he felt so happy she was remembering him.

«I know a lot of CERN's scientists, especially you. You are pretty famous, you know.» the girl slightly pulled her hand as she was talking.

Mingyu's smile faded away as he realized she wasn't remembering him at all.

«I did my research on you before arriving, I would like to have a conversation with a lot of you sometime.» the girl continued, she looked at Ursula, then back at Mingyu.

She would stay for a while in this place, why not meet other scientists she was admiring?

«Of course you will.»
Ursula smirked once again and got up.
«You can have a long conversation with him.» she said and revealed smoothly her palm, pointing at Mingyu.

Linda looked at the tall man, forgetting to ask the reason of his visit.

«You will work exclusively with Kim Mingyu for this project. He is the only one that has done useful research and the first one to proceed into experiments...»

Mingyu looked away and a serious expression appeared on his face. His members' last moments had taken over his thoughts.

«I am glad I will work with you.» said Linda with a serious and loud tone, she offered her hand again. He grabbed hers and nodded with a smile.

Ursula motioned them to sit next to each other, across her.

«The project, don't be shocked...»
She pretended as if she was holding two baggetts of drums.
«Is a time machine!»

Linda kept looking at her with an expressionless look, she didn't know if she should laugh or not, maybe to seem nice?
Mingyu gave her a side look and holded back from laughing, his boss could be terrible when it came to humor some times.

Ursula looked at her and waited for a reaction, but the girl wanted to hear everything else she had to say. This place is no joke, right?

«That's it basically.» she coughed gently and stretched her back.
«Kim has already material and stuff you can start with. That's where your work will be based on.»

She gave her more details about the procedure and the purposes of the project. Mingyu would guide her and show her around the place. They would stick together from now on.

As expected, a time machine.
A machine that would be able to travel in the past and future. She was tasked to build something that had jumped off a science fiction movie.
Who knows, maybe such thing was possible now, the technology had developed.

«Before you go, I know something has been bothering you about your safety here.»

Ursula exhaled and Linda took advantage of that small pause.
She would show her that she is informed about everything, showing off was not her thing but she enjoyed it deeply.

«The experiment fail on December the 13th, the one being held under Kim Mingyu's supervision. A terrible accident, all 11 participants died. The burnt man that was found in the underground garages on the 6th of the same month doesn't seem like an accident though.»

Mingyu eyed her without moving his head, his chin resting on his index and thumb.

«That's a murder, isn't it? There is a murderer, right? »

Linda asked the old woman and the second hesitated to answer.
She filled the pause again.

«It's not my business, I am not the one to handle this matter. It was probably done from the inside but you still don't know the body's identity.»

Mingyu was carefully staring at her, she was even more interesting from up close.

«What I am saying is, accidents are accidents. It may could had been prevented but nobody caused it. Now if there's a murderer, isn't it weird and unacceptable you still haven't found anything that could lead you to him? He is probably inside the place I am starting work today, the place I will literally live in. Yes, of course the safety here is bothering me, please proceed and tell me everything I need to know about it.»

She smiled and moved closer to the edge of her desk. Mingyu smiled and nodded in agreement, without getting noticed by his boss.
He looked at her, trying to say that there was nothing she should worry about, that they had taken care of this already. But that was not his job.

«You will be safe, we have taken care of this. You will work with another 'scientist', Xu Minghao.»

Ursula made it clear to her by the tone of her voice that it wasn't about an actual scientist.

The door opened and a tall, young Asian man walked in. He was very slim, he was wearing a white robe like Mingyu's, which was contrasting with his dark black hair.

«Xu Minghao, a very well trained bodyguard, he will be protecting you from now on.»

«I am looking forward to it.»

The young man bowed kindly and Linda smiled at him. He seemed nice.

«You can count on him and trust him if anything happens.»

Ursula smiled trying to convince her that she shouldn't worry.
