«What did you just do.»
Angela's voice cracked, her partner got shot right in front of her and it was probably her turn now.
«Thank god Kathrin.» exhaled Mingyu, he closed his eyes in relief.
He had notified her earlier, how glad he felt that she was there in time.
Linda looked at the woman and her eyes widened, she shot him and the man didn't even know who killed him.Was it this easy to kill someone, to remove a life?
«How could you-» said Linda and eyed her with a look full of confusion, she was upset.
Another gunshot interrupted her.
Angela tried to reach for Eric's gun but was stopped immediately.
«Go!»
Kathrin yelled at both of them, she needed to find a way to explain this mess after.
Mingyu kneeled down and took the gun off Angela's grib, he went to her desk and searched very fast for the keys, they were easy to find.
He ran towards the wall and punched a big blue button.«Move!» he yelled and Linda snapped out of it, she still couldn't believe what she got involved into.
They got on one motorcycle, Mingyu put the key in the hole and started the engine. The runway was leading upwards in the distance, at least that's how it seemed.
A group of men dashed outside the door, they were all holding guns and were aiming at all directions.
Kathrin turned to them and shot at them without thinking about it, at the same time she was running towards Mingyu and Linda.
«Go already!» she yelled and these were her last words.
She couldn't stand a chance against so many people, she didn't even delay them.
«Shit!» cursed Mingyu as he saw the girl's dead body fall on the ground.
Linda frowned, speechless. She was a good person.
Mingyu started the motorcycle, Linda wrapped her arms around his stomach, she looked away. They shouldn't let their friend's sacrifice be in vain, Mingyu was thankful.
«Should we shoot?» yelled a man to his superior, they were aiming at them but they didn't know if they should pull the trigger.
«We might kill the woman too.» said another and some of them tried to reach the other motorcycles, but they had no keys.
«It doesn't matter! Shoot!» yelled their boss and they all obeyed his order.
Mingyu was maneuvering left and right trying to avoid as many bullets as possible and he succeeded.
They were gone from their sight pretty fast anyway.Mingyu was speeding up, the exit was ahead of them, they were only a minute away of getting away from CERN.
«Take my phone out of my pocket.» he said to the young woman, he couldn't free his hands.
She carefully let her one arm go, she shoved her hand inside the pocket and reached for his phone.
«Throw it away, they will track us down if we carry it.» he said and Linda nodded.
But as soon as she touched the phone, she could feel the device vibrating. Someone was calling him, she thought it was Minghao.
«Somebody is calling you!» she said as she took it out, trying to pick it up.
But it wasn't saying Minghao's name on the contact, it wasn't even English.
«Maybe it's Minghao-» she continued, hoping that maybe it was him, she didn't pay attention on the name, but she got cut off by Mingyu.
«It doesn't matter anymore, throw it away!» he yelled back at her, they were almost getting out.
She hesitated for a second, but couldn't do otherwise.
«Linda!»
He yelled again as he could feel her hesitation.
She shook her head in denial, the thought of going back slowly faded.
She didn't know what was happening but she knew for sure it was something bad.She looked at the screen one last time, it was still vibrating.
The name was written in Hangul, thankfully she knew Korean. However, she threw it away without saying any other word, it broke as it hit the street.
«My other pocket, take it!» he yelled and the woman obeyed, she was nervous as well so she was acting hustly.
«No!» yelled the girl back at him, she was refusing of taking control over that object.
«You think I would ask you if I could do it myself?» he said loudly, focusing on the road in front of him. «You don't have to shoot, just scare them off!» he yelled again, he could feel the girl squeezing his waist, she was afraid and anxious.
Linda grabbed the gun with her left hand, keeping her index finger away from the trigger. She was shaking and worried she might cause an accident, maybe something would go wrong. But now was the time for her to be tough.
It was night already, the stars were shining in the dark, clear sky. The guards of the parking lot were walking around the enclosure.
A few of them were standing in front of the big gate, wondering why it was opened. Nobody had notified them earlier about anything.
They heard the sound of the motorcycle becoming louder and louder, soon they could see it.«What are they doing?» wondered one of the guards as he was watching them coming at them with a high speed.
«The bar is closed, will they exit?» yelled another guard who was standing next to the exit.
Driving so fast meant they weren't intending on stopping any time soon.
«Lift the bar!» yelled one man and the other looked at him surprised.
«But we have no permission!» yelled the same guard back at him, they were far away from one another.
The motorcycle appeared and passed the first guards, they looked at them, they seemed confused and surprised.
Actual scientists were riding it and they even had their robes on.
Linda looked around her and tightened the grib on the gun, as much as she did on Mingyu's waist. She lifted the gun and pointed to the front, hoping for them to let them go.
«The fuck!» yelled the guard and ignored what he said earlier about permission.
His own life was much important. He immediately pressed the button and the bar got out of Mingyu's way.
The motorcycle exited the parking lot, they were outside now.
Out of CERN, away from their pursuers, in the outer world.
