Chapter 16

Time had passed quickly today, just like the other days. Was it that Linda enjoyed her job that much?

She had created two programs today with a little help from Mingyu. It was night, at least that's what the clock was showing. They couldn't know if it was day or night underground.

She was left for a couple of minutes alone in the laboratory, Mingyu had to help Jacob who had called him about an error his computer had.

She walked up the stairs, to put back in place some of her objects inside the shelfs. She kneeled down and opened the closet. The room was quiet, she was tired and wanted to return to her room.

She had to wait for Minghao to return her back, the girl had no idea where he was.
But she didn't had to question it anymore, the man appeared behind her and dashed on her. He grabbed her neck, locking it between his arm.

He was sure he had succeeded his lock around her neck, but the last moment the girl pulled her head closer to her and her chin downwards, closing the free space for her neck.
She let go of the closet and grabbed his forearm with both of her hands.

He eyed her angrily, her reaction was sudden and quick. He thought that now that she was tired she wouldn't be aware of his presence and it would be easier to attack her.

Her fingers slipped between the gap of her neck and his arm, she pushed it with force away from her, at once. Without letting go of him, she slipped on the side and stood up, behind him. Her one hand targeted his back, she pushed him and his face landed hard on the wall.
Now he was pinned on it, his arm was being held by the girl tightly. A wrong move and she could break it.

But Linda was small and she didn't have the same amount of strength he had.
He took advantage of the few seconds that passed, she had relaxed for a bit. He pulled his arm quickly and turned around, lifting his leg, going for a kick that targeted her head.

The girl gasped, his move scared her off. However, his leg hit nothing but air, Linda stoop very quickly.
She lifted her gaze and dashed on him, her palm facing the ceiling. She stretched her arm and her hand stopped only an inch before it could hit his chin.

Minghao rested his head back to the wall and smirked, the girl was trying to caught her breath.

«What reflexes!» he exclaimed and laughed.

Linda let go of him and walked to the back, she laughed as well.

«That was fast.» she said and smiled proudly at herself. «I was aware of you from the moment you had entered the room, just so you know.» she said and gave him an arrogant smirk.

«You sure have gotten better at self defense, Linda.» said Minghao proudly too.

«Well it's thanks to you.» said the young woman and patted his shoulder.

«You have gotten better at acting too.» she said and winked at him, the man giggled.

«Good thing I played a lot of games on my computer, I know enough to claim I major in informatics.» he said and yawned.

«We should rest.» she said and rubbed her eyes, a yawn followed along.

«We should.» agreed Mingyu as he came back to their laboratory, he seemed tired as well.

«I was planning on hanging out with the others... Is Jacob done?» asked Minghao and Mingyu nodded.

Neither him or Linda were planning on staying awake any longer.

«Have fun.» said Mingyu and waved at his friend as he grabbed Linda gently by her hand.

She eyed him awkwardly but didn't resist, she followed him.
