So, I've been concentrating on Percabeth for a while and I realized something: I REALLY missed Jiper. So here you go. Jiper for all of us! :)
Chapter 40
Jason
Jason couldn’t stop trembling. Ever since Percy had died and came back to life, his body kept getting shaky. His fingers were now shaking as he wrapped Piper’s arms with gauze. She was looking at him, her lips pulled into a deep frown, looking deep in thought. She swung her legs like a little kid.
“What’s going on?” she finally asked.
“That whole situation scared me.”
She nodded. He could remember when she started to cry when she found out Percy had died. “It was so scary, Jason.”
Before he could answer her, Percy ran in, still in his bloody shirt, breathless. He stood straight with worried eyes. “Jason, Annabeth just had a vision. It’s Thalia… she’s in trouble.”
“What?” Jason felt like someone just stabbed him in the gut, something Piper had been through. He was so upset that an electric shock went down his spine and hit the person closest to him.
“OW!” Piper shrieked. She rubbed her neck with pained eyes. “Gods, just zap me more often, will you?”
“Sorry!” Jason replied. He must have looked really awful, because she pulled him into a hug.
“What exactly happened in Annabeth’s vision?” Piper asked Percy.
His eyebrows pulled together. “Annabeth said she saw Thalia caught in a crevice in the ground, her legs stuck, screaming for help,” he said.
“This is not good.” Piper hopped off the cot and paced, her bare feet squeaking against the tile. “We have to find her.”
“Pinecone Face always gets in trouble,” Percy commented. “She got a statue dropped on her legs last summer.”
Piper paled. “Excuse me?”
“Hera meant to drop the statue on Annabeth, and it would’ve killed me too. But Thalia pushed us out of the way and her legs were trapped.” Percy shrugged.
“We have to find her,” Piper said. She rested her head against the window that showed the beautiful blue water lapping up on the Italian coast.
Annabeth stumbled in, looking quite pale and terrified. “I know where Thalia is. She’s in France, guys!”
“France?” Leo walked in. “What are you guys talking about?”
“Thalia’s in trouble in France,” Percy answered. “We need to get her.”
“We nothing,” Leo said with a worried face. “I’m not sure the Argo II could handle going to France, guys. We’re going to have to make some major repairs before we set off to Greece.”
“Then how on earth are we going to save Thalia?” Jason asked.
“You could take Arion,” Annabeth said slowly. “But you could only take about one other person with you.”
“Do we have any chariots?” Jason asked. He wanted to take everybody with him.
Leo shook his head. “No. I didn’t expect we needed a chariot.”
“Just take another person and go,” Annabeth told Jason. “You really need to get Thalia out. She’s like my sister, Jason.”
He nodded. He knew he would need help, so he met Piper’s eyes. She knew what he wanted, so she bobbed her head in a nod.
