This is a touchy subject.
I really do not like stereotypes.
What I have come to learn is that attitude and character make a person. Not looks or status or intelligence or even hygiene.
When you get down to it, none of that really matters.
I have found that a lot of people directly contradict their stereotype. I've even found that I contradict a lot of the stereotypes I'm associated with.
Not all white girls drink Starbucks everyday.
Not all black people have names that end in "__a".
Not all Asians are super-geniuses.
Not all Americans are fat.
Most Germans aren't Nazis.
Most Muslims don't kill people.
Most Christians don't try to convert you all day.
The point is, no one can be defined by their race, sex, hair color, religion, nationality, or culture. You can't necessarily control those things. What you can control is your demeanor and how you live your life.
Everyone tells us to "be ourselves". But who is "yourself"? Are you your culture? Are you your race? Have you become your religion?
Or are you who you want to be? Are you perceived in a way that pleases you? Do you like your character?
We shouldn't categorize people based upon looks or status or country of origin. We should categorize people based upon their personalities and whether or not we find those certain personalities particularly appealing.
Not everyone is going to fit into a category. The sooner we learn that, the better off we will be.
It's okay to make observations about people. But it becomes a problem when we draw conclusions that may not be true.
So defy the stereotype. Go against the flow. Better yourself. Because, in the end, that's all that really matters.

I felt like this really needed to be said.
I hope it wasn't too emotional or whatever.
I just wanted to have a little positivity in all the negative crap I pour into this book. I'm really not a negative person.
Well. Not THAT negative.
