To all you crazy fans out there, I have two words.

CALM. DOWN.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's fantastic to be a fan of something. Bands, movies, celebrities, giraffes, whatever.

But these fans take it waaaaay too far.

Like, screaming-at-you-if-you-ever-say-anything-against-their-source-of-fanning far.

I mean, seriously, get yourself together.

I mainly have a problem with fans who worship their band/celebrity/giraffe so much that if you says one word against their "idol" they will literally go defense attorney on you. Except with more swearing.

"I don't really like 5 Seconds of Summer's new song. I think that style is a little overdone."

"OMG SHUT UP YOU ARE SUCH A $*#% I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SAID THAT THEY ARE THE BEST BAND IN THE UNIVERSE $!#% @*#%! YOU 5SOS FOR LIFE!"

Okay! Okay! Just... Hush for one minute.

Shhh.

Shh.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, 'kay? Not everyone is going to love the same things you do. Let's allow everyone to like what they like, all right? Okay. Now, let me call your emotional therapist....

Oh, and then there are those fans who are so naïve that it makes me want to slap them upside the head while yelling "GET REAL!"

"Oh, I heard that Josh Hutcherson cheated on his girlfriend. I feel really bad for her! It was a really terrible thing for him to do."

"There's just no way! Joshie would NEVER cheat on anyone! He's such a great guy, and he totally loves her anyway. And if he DID cheat on her, she probably deserved it."

Wow. Um... Okay.

These people just believe their favorite band/celebrity/giraffe/anything else would never do ANYTHING wrong.

NEWSFLASH: Nobody is perfect.

Lastly, a fan type that really REALLY annoys me is the fans who think these famous people know them.

"So I was at the One Direction concert, right, and I was SURE that Niall smiled at me. So I was like 'OMG' and smiled back at him. Then at the end of the show I went backstage to meet the band, and he proposed to me and we eloped and now we're living in Maui."

Yeah. Good luck with that.

I hate to break it to you, but these people don't know you. There's no way One Direction could ever get to know all of their fans. It's just not possible.

So take a few steps back and get in touch with reality.

Like I said, fanning is great. I fan over books all the time (you really have no idea).

HOWEVER, some fans need to take a few thousand steps off the Crazy Train.

If you are a fan who needs to take it down 15905217073 notches, I get special permission to slap you.

Kidding. Ily all.
