Chapter 39: Doubts and Truths

*3 months later*

Jerome came to the Jewelry Shop that they opened months ago to give Samantha the papers that she needs for the upcoming meeting with her employees.

"Where's Samantha?" Jerome asked her wife's assistant, Cassy.

Cassy looked so shocked when he saw Jerome holding the small bouquet of white roses that was picked from her boss' desk.

"Ahh.. Sir.. Nasa Café po sa kabilang street" Cassy answered.

"At sinong kasama nya?" Jerome looks dead serious. What made him act thay way?

Cassy could not answer right away.

"Si Sir.. Si Sir A--" Cassy wasn't able to finished her sentence when Samantha came back.

"Oh hun, you're here na pala. Dala mo na yung papers?" Samantha gave him a kiss on his cheeks.

Jerome didn't respond. He's still holding the bouquet firmly.

"What's the meaning of this?" Jerome's referring to the note card stucked with the flowers.

"Ma'am sorry nakalimutan ko alisin ang note card. I didn't mean to..."

Samantha's eyes widened. "Cassy it's fine.You can take your lunch now and let me talk to my husband alone"

Cassy left with so much guilt.

"Are you still seing him behind my back?" Jerome dropped the flowers on the floor.

Samantha picked it up and put it back on her desk. She sat for a while and took her phone from her bag.

"How many times do I have to tell you? We are over since that night, Jerome. " Samantha sent am sms to someone saying "Don't come to my shop, he's here. Meet me next week"

"Then answer me. Kanino galing ang flowers na ito? Who's this Al sending you flowers every week?" Jerome said calmly.

"Will you believe me if I tell you it's from Alexis? The guy we met from the exhibit" Samantha took her purse.

Jerome held her hands. "Ah.. Alexis of course..."

"I don't think so..I'll see you at home" Samantha walks away from him.

"I'm sorry hun.." Jerome whispered.

He was left alone at the shop. He sat for a while and started to clean the cluttered desk of his wife. Samantha unintentionally left her phone there and Jerome wouldn't notice it if it didn't beep.

"I see, I'll just see you next week then" An SMS from Al

Jerome told himself that he should just believe her no matter what and put back her phone.

"I thought that could save our marriage but I was wrong" Valeen was on her study room when Albert came in unexpectedly.

"You lied about your pregnancy. Would you still lie about this??" Albert hadd her the medical files he found inside his wife's vault.

"How did you get that.. That shouldn't be--" Valeen was cut off.

"That shouldn't be seen by me? Hanggang kailan mo balak itago ito? I know hindi ako naging mabuting asawa sayo, pero hindi ako masamang tao Valeen. Have yourself a chance to live. We're going to see a doctor again, this time. I'll be the one to arrange your medical check ups" Albert took the papers and left.
