Two years came around in flash.During my stay in Chicago,things were really going well for me.I had an amazing family here, i had a job and i was able to discover my passion which i followed without proscatination.

My first job in Chicago was with Mrs Debbie where i worked as a nanny for six months.

While working for her,i discovered baking was my passion so i applied for a one year diploma program in pastry and baking arts with my savings.

I quit working for Mrs Debbie because it was taking a lot of my time so i got a part time job as a waitress in a small restaurant.

I worked as a waitress until i completed my diploma program then i travelled to Kentucky to visit my family for the first time since i left at seventeen.

My parents had different opinions on where they think i should settle down since Alice and Aiden relocated to France but i had always wanted to live in Newyork;far from home where i would get more opportunities and start my life anew.

I met up with Erica when i travelled.Although we've been in touch but it still felt like i haven't spoken with her in years.

For some reasons,Erica was the only person i remained in contact with after i left for Chicago.
We had a lot of catching up to do.

Through her i got to know Ryder was in the US military academy.
Samantha was studying law in Stanford University and Rebecca was in the same school with Erica and her boyfriend Eric.

I arrived Newyork a little bit late.
Dad had called an old friend of his to pick me up from the airport and accomodate me till i get a comfortable apartment of my own.

After having dinner with Mr Shirley and his family,i got settled in a room they provided for me.

"May i come in?"

"Yeah,sure."

"I saw your room open so i decided to check on you and see how you're settling in."She said to me

"I'm doing just fine."I smiled at her as i made space for her to sit beside me

"I'm Christy."

"I'm Karen."

"You're welcome to our house."Christy said

"Thank you so much Christy for accommodating me."

"It's no big deal."

"I really appreciate the kind gesture."I told her

She tucked her long black hair behind her ear before getting up "I'd let you rest,I'm sure you are really tired.If you need anything my room is adjacent to yours."

"Okay."I nodded

"Good night Karen."

"Good night Christy."

She did seem like a loveable person i thought to myself as i got up to lock the door before retiring to bed.
