*VALERIE'S POV*

"Okay, Valerie, you need to calm down and take a slow deep breath. Can you do that honey?" Hailey asked me and I nodded.

In less than thirty minutes, I'd be walking down the aisle to exchange wedding vows with my love and I was really nervous. Cameron and I wanted something small but our parents wanted an elaborate wedding and I couldn't blame them for that.
They were influential people and wanted their children to have the most talked about wedding ceremony in town and beyond.

I had my bridesmaids, Hailey, Erica, Molly and of course my chief bridesmaid, Karen with me. We were in my room getting me ready for the big day.
I had a white robe on as my beautician worked on my face. He was done with my hair and almost done with my face when my mother barged into my room.

"What's taking so long?" Mom asked no one in particular.

"I'm almost done ma'am." My beautician, Li Wei answered.

Mom looked exhausted, maybe because she had spent time getting things in order for my wedding or because she was tired of waiting for me to get ready. Whichever it was, I couldn't tell.

"Everyone's waiting." She said before exiting my room.

Most times, I wondered if my mother was really happy for me as she claimed she was. She really did put in much effort in organizing my wedding but at this moment, I was beginning to think she did that because of her own personal interest and not because it was her daughter's wedding. She couldn't even admire me like any mother would. There was no joy in her eyes when she walked into my room. Was it because I followed my heart against everyone's wish?

I felt someone rub my back in a relaxing manner.

Li dropped the make up brush and clapped his hands. He gave me a mirror and as I stared at it, the Lady who stared back at me wasn't exactly like me.

I looked absolutely stunning.

I smiled at Li. "Thank you Li."

"Let's get you dressed up." He pulled out my wedding dress from the hanger.

Thankfully, I didn't have to pull my dress over my head. I was able to wear it without smearing my make up.

Karen who had not said a word to me since I started getting ready, helped me with my flowing wedding dress as we walked downstairs to join the others while the rest of my bridal train walked behind us.

The priest came out and asked everyone to stand up and I knew what would come next.

It was now my turn!

The flower girls came out, lined the path with white rose petals and the music started.

All eyes were now on me as I stepped forward. I had only taken four steps when my father, Robert came to meet me.

"My Angel. You are beautiful!" Dad whispered to me.

That statement meant a lot to me and I rewarded him with a smile.
He escorted me down the aisle, which seemed longer than it was. As we walked down the aisle, guests looked at me, taking pictures of me, waving and smiling at me. There were reporters from the media too and I was careful not to trip.

I looked up ahead and I saw him. My Cameron, the man of my dreams, the love of my life, my everything and my soon to be husband. He smiled at me and I smiled back.

At that moment, He became my strength. He seemed calm and relaxed as he stared at me and if I wasn't mistaken, I could've sworn I saw tears in his eyes. My nervousness kicked in hundred folds as my father and I neared the aisle.

At the end the of the aisle, my father pulled me into a hug but he was careful enough not to ruin my make up and my dress.

"I'm so happy Vee." Dad told me when he finally released me from his embrace. "I want you to know that I'm very proud of you and I'll very much give you my support. I love you my darling daughter."

At this point, I felt like tearing up. When my mother wasn't even showing that she was happy for me, my father did. I didn't care if he showed his love and support because he had been absent all my life. All that mattered was that he cared for me dearly like any good father would.

My father placed my hand in Cameron's hand and smiled at us. He patted Cameron on his shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze before he walked away. Cameron and I stood in front of the priest and in front of all who have gathered from far and near to witness our exchange of vows.

It was an over whelming feeling to stand in from of all of these people. Both those we knew and those we didn't. My eyes finally located Karen who was seated next to Chase. She smiled and waved at me.

The priest asked the guests to be seated and then he began his speech. After his speech, Cameron and I exchanged our vows, tears filling both our eyes. The ring bearer, Future stepped forward and presented the rings. I placed Cameron's ring on first, then he placed on mine.

Cameron leaned in and kissed me softly like he's never done before. Everyone clapped and cheered for us. I heard "Awwwwwnnn!" here and there but I didn't pay attention. My full attention rested on the man before me, Cameron.

Soon we were ready to head to the banquet hall where the reception would take place and all I could think about was that Cameron and I were now one.

We were finally man and wife.
