Chapter 19

I got things ready for Molly to help babysit Future.Like other times;i packed two change of clothes,cereal and some toys.
"I really don't know when Chase and i would get back but i believe this should be enough for the day."I told Molly as i handed Future's bag to her.

"You do realise i've been doing this right?"

And i nodded

"Don't worry your pretty head,Anne and i have got this.Go enjoy your evening."She assured me.

I pulled her into a warm embrace."Thank you so much Molly,i really don't know what i would have done without you."

As she pulled out of my embrace,we heard a soft knock on the front door."That should be Chase."She assumed."Go get your purse and shoes while i check who's at the door."

When i got back from my bedroom,i saw him and my jaw dropped.He looked so handsome in a tux,with his hair gelled to one side."Wow!Never seen you dress so formal.You look great."I complimented

"You look absolutely breathtaking."He said as his eyes trailed down my neck and to my cleavage."You set?"

"Yep."

"Momma you going?"Future pouted

"Yes sweetie but i won't be long.Your aunt Molly and Anne would be with you so don't give them any trouble okay."

"Yes momma."He nodded and i pecked him.

"Have fun."Anne screamed from the kitchen

"Sure we will."Chase replied with a warm smile.He looped my arm around his as we walked out of my flat.

My arm was still looped around his while we searched for Valerie and Hailey.So far,the launching went well.Many friends,family members and business associates graced her art gallery launching.She sold most of them,Chase even bought one for himself and offered to buy me one but i declined because art work has never been my thing.

We finally spotted her with two men who were dressed in a black expensive well tailored suit."That's her grand dad and her father."Chase informed me.

She must have noticed us approaching because she excused herself and started walking towards us."Hey Chase."She greeted with a bright smile on her face."Hi Karen."She said as she turned towards me,"you came."

"Yeah."I nodded."Congratulations to you.You did a very great job here and all your works are amazing."I shook her hands.

"I really appreciate your presence and support."She hugged Chase.

He hugged her back and after pulling away,he asked "Where's Hailey?"

Just then,Hailey approached us in company of some people i guessed were her friends.
After pleasantries,Karen invited us to celebrate her gallery at a club.

"Thank you for accompanying me."He said as we got to my apartment complex.

"I should be thanking you."I smiled

"Are you going to the club?"

"No,I'm really tired and i need to rest."

"Okay.I'll go change and head over to Hailey's place,it's closer to the club."

"Alright then,have fun."I told him

When i entered my flat,Molly had already tucked Future in bed.She was relaxing on the couch with a box of cookies,watching Netflix.After getting ready for bed,i joined her in the living room.I noticed she had already dozed off so i turned off the TV,returned the cookies to the refrigerator and covered her properly before heading to my bedroom.
