In his eyes she was the sun who lit up his world

And at that moment as he watched her

He made a silent promise to protect and cherish her

For eternity

Fear coursed through us like lava, burning us on the insides. What is there to fear one might wonder. But they haven't seen an absolutely furious Prince who's currently trashing the insides of the treehouse.

I covered my mouth to prevent a gasp from escaping at the loud crashing coming from below. Uncovering my mouth, I whispered harshly to Cora. "I thought you said he doesn't know about the treehouse!"

The look of panic was clear on her face, painting it pale. "I thought he didn't!" Esta had wisely disappeared just as the heavy sound of boots thudded on the landing platform outside. Cora and I didn't waste any time diving out the window, though the squeeze was a tight fit.

Crash! Thump!

I gulped and looked at Cora in fear. She had started chewing on her fingernails nervously. The branch underneath me shook and I gripped it tighter, extending my wings slightly to maintain balance. The slight ache from where a feather was torn out when I squeezed through the window flared at the tips.

"Cora!" He sang and Cora gestured towards me and downwards. Was she crazy? I'm not dealing with a crazy mad prince! He'd probably tear all my wing feathers out or worse. I shivered.

We held our breath at the red haired figure that casually stepped out the door. I quickly gestured for Cora to fly. We crept along the large branch, me keeping an eye on Killian down below. Not realizing Cora had stopped, I bumped into her and the branch supporting us shook violently.

"What are you doing?!" I hissed.

"Watch where you're going!"

"You were the one who stopped in the middle. Now hurry before he catches us!" I looked down and my heart thudded when he wasn't there. "Crap crap crap."

"What?" Cora whispered as she inched towards the opening a few feet away.

"He's not there!"

"What?!"

"Well look who we have here." A voice drawled behind us and we froze, slowly turning around. And behold the red haired prince leaning against the trunk of the tree with a predatory gaze fixed on us. His eyes darted to me and my breath hitched. Maybe if we stayed still enough, we would disappear and he wouldn't see us. Yes that's the plan.

"Run!" I screamed and pushed Cora out of the tree, hearing her yell out a few curses. I launched myself out of the tree, opening my wings wide to catch the updrift of air.
