2 months later

Vincent took his time walking through the frozen garden towards Iris's grave sight. His nurses keeping a safe yet comfortable distance as they strolled behind.

It was chilly. Being sick made him feel it a lot more but it was alright because he was going to one of his favorite places in the city. He didn't come too often because his heart ached being here but he was was ready today.

"Can we have some time alone?" Vincent asked. "Of course. Jolene is about 5 minutes away."

Vincent nodded before slowly seating himself next to her headstone. "Hey Doll you missed me?"

The silence of area casting over him. However the wind blowing past moving the crinkled leaves always felt like a response to him when ever he spoke.

"Our first grandson was born you know. She even named him after both of us." He smiled thinking about his mini me.

"You would be in love with him. Spoil him absolutely rotten." He sighed imagining of her beautiful face. But he didn't feel sad thinking about her anymore.

He remembered everything good and happy about her. He remembered her laugh. Her smile. Her love she had for Jo and him. And that was all he wanted to remember. Everything good. He was a lucky man to actually get the opportunity to be with his soulmate.

"I miss you baby. I miss you terribly, but honestly I feel so good. Something that hasn't happened since you passed. I haven't felt so happy in such a long time."

"I found it Iris. I found peace. I found happiness without you." He smiled rubbing in circles on the headstone.

"I never thought it would be possible. But the day I looked into my grandson's eyes I felt it. I feel at peace, completely happy with the life I've lived."

"I'm ready whenever you're ready for me. I never was good at being sick but I'll spend my last days appreciating the best thing you could've ever given me."

And just like that Jolene arrived. "Hey Jo." Vince smiled. Jolene hugged her dad before kissing her mother's grave. Vincenzo crawled to his papa who gladly snatched him up.

"Hey Papa and Momma." She smiled. "Vincenzo is about 8 months now Ma. You and dad would definitely fight over him. He's walking and causing havoc." Vincent rolls his eyes.

"I never lose a fight and your mother knows that." Vincent scoffed kissing his grandsons head. "She would slap you upside the head." The three laughed as if Iris was right there joking with them. Well Vincenzo didn't really know why he was laughing he just always seemed to laugh whenever other people were laughing.

"I wore the pants in the house." Jolene snorted at his declaration. "Oh please you couldn't go 5 minutes with out mom giving you attention."

"See you two always gang up on me." For once Vincent and Jolene just basked in Iris's presence without sadness. They were happy. It was like she was laughing beside them. This is peace, this is what true happiness felt like. Keeping Vincenzo from eating the snow that he was so addicted to and enjoying each other's company.

Happiness when there is absolutely no reason for it. Jolene and Vincent didn't feel sad talking about her anymore. They enjoyed it, they enjoyed being near her and enjoyed talking about the old memories.

Iris was always going to be apart of their family. She would never be forgotten.

For hours the two sat there and talked. It was great to not only catch up with Iris but to catch up with each other.
