Lol I'm sure y'all know Jolene is crazy. This chapter is about to take a sharp left. She's a little bipolar manipulator but I love her.

"F*ck you Jolene." Gianni repeated angrily. Jolene was about to snap back reaching for her pistol but this time Gianni was faster as he held his gun up to stop her speech and movements.

"No no no you don't get to say sh*t like that. I'm nothing to you? I don't give a sh*t about you?"

Gianni slammed his fist into the wall next to her head. That was the first time Jolene flinched. "I did everything for you! I may have been young Jolene but I wasn't stupid!"

Jolene opened her mouth to argue but Gianni laughed dryly and shook his head in a menacing way. Effectively shutting her up for the first time.

"Teach you to speak and bath yourself? I did that! Covering your ears during a shoot out? I also did that! Taking the beatings? TAKING THE F*CKING RAPE? I F*CKING DID THAT JO!" He yelled getting in her face.

"I RUINED MY F*CKING LIFE FOR YOU AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY I DON'T GIVE A SH*T?!" He panted with anger.

Jolene turned her head away from him and his truth. Gianni did do a lot for her. He went through a lot for her. She was such an angry person it was just so easy to be upset with him knowing he was also young.

She was pissed as hell that he had the balls to talk to her crazy like that. But that little nagging voice made her think about her response and everything Gianni said.

He was right. Jolene was actually wrong for once... That she will admit to.

"You didn't deserve the suffering you went through." She exhaled her instinct to yell back at him and spoke sincerely. She could see the steam still pouring off of him as his eyes were intently focused on her wide with residual anger.

"I'm sorry, you shouldn't have done any of it." She said in all seriousness. "I wasn't worth your pain." Not an emotion on her face. Gianni was disturbed by how genuine she spoke.

She believed she wasn't worth it when he believed she was every bit of worth it.

"You don't owe me at all Jolene you were a defenseless child. Even if you weren't a child you would never owe me. I'm not saying this to make you feel guilty. I chose to protect you because I cared about you. But to say what you said? Yeah I don't ever want to hear you say I didn't give sh*t about you again. You were the only thing I ever gave a sh*t about."

She could see him calming down. She didn't even know Gianni was capable of getting angry.  "You were a kid too. You shouldn't have done so much." She mumbled.

He exhaled and placed his hands on her shoulders shaking her lightly. "I would go through it all again if it meant I would protect you. Why can't you see that I have always cared about you? I never stopped."

His eyes were glimmering with honesty. So much honesty it freaked her out. "Don't say things like that." She snapped not being able to maintain the eye contact.

His "I care about you" was starting to sound a lot like "I love you." And she couldn't have that.

Gianni cupped her face with his hands and traced her lip with his thumb. She was so d*mn beautiful it wasn't fair. She was his bestfriend, the only person he could relate to. The only person left who...used to love him.

He just wanted that again. He wanted her to love him again.

"I don't know why I just..." He whispered not being able to keep his eyes away from her mouth. Jolene held the look of confusion on her face for a moment before realization kicked in too late.
