—13th Anniversary of Iris Elise Madden—It was about 6 AM when Jolene's phone was ringing. She got out of her bed stretching in annoyance. Who was calling her on today out of all days?
Jolene planned to sleep the whole day away and pretend it never happened. But the d*mn phone had to ring and ruin everything for her.
She angrily answered the phone. "Madden."
"Oh wow she even sounds like me now." Vincent's voice mused on the other side of the phone. But he didn't sound all that happy.
Jolene inhaled calming her nerves before she spoke. "Hi Dad is there anything wrong?"
"Got into... a bit of an issue. Your presence here is requested." His voice was very steely. She knew it wasn't a request it was a command, no room for objection. Jolene got the nervous butterflies in her stomach. She inhaled quietly nodding "I'll be there in 15."
"Yeah you do that Jo." He snipped before hanging up on her. Jolene knew she was in the fryer. Oh Lord this was the last thing she needed.
She silently dressed her self before hopping on her motorcycle. She tied her hair in a tight bun hoping that she came off as brave when she actually felt like a little girl about to get her a** handed to her by her parents.
"It's fine Jo." She scolded her self at her weakness. She zoomed through the town to get to the prison hoping both her father was okay and that she wasn't going to get in trouble.
Once Jo got inside they brought her to her Father's cell. She noticed the men weren't drooling and whistling at her per usual. Everyone looked scared to be near her.
Once she reached Vincent's cell she had an idea why. "Oh God Dad." She sighed.
Jolene looked at the sight of her father and shook her head. "Dad I thought you turned over a new leaf?" She sighed.
"Don't play innocent with me Missy. As you can clearly see I'm not in the mood." Vincent growled. Jolene inhaled, she knew her uncle snitched and dealing with her father was going to be a nightmare.
"What happened?" She asked taking her father's less bloody hand in hers. Vincent was still mad but seeing Jolene always softened him up.
"I may be a changed man but I still can react. Especially on a day like this..." He said looking at the ground. He didn't finish the sentence because he clearly didn't want to talk about it.
Jolene didn't think she could see her father with anyone else but she wondered if he met someone, would it make him more happy?
"Dad you can get out of here you know. Start over, maybe find som-"
