The Beast Inside Me

What do I do?

After looking at my hideous figure in the mirror, I was so frightened that I lost my balance and fell breaking the glass cup in my hand. Of course this loud sound would startle Lauren and Sophie. So they woke up from their sleep only to find a beast in their bathroom.
     "WEREWOLF! " they both screamed. "calm down I'm not.. " I tried to tell them. "OMG, it speaks!" Sophie said with her jaw literally dropping. "we have to like call someone! " Lauren said as she grabbed Sophie and ran. I had to stop them, so I chased after them. They had gotten to the bedroom so I went in with them and locked the door behind me. Sophie and Lauren let out high pitched screams as I drew nearer to them. "it's me, Mara" I said softly. Sophie and Lauren looked at each other simultaneously and there was a short silence and then they let out another scream. It took a lot of convincing but they eventually agreed that yes, I was their best friend Mara. Well I used the fact that I was wearing the clothes I slept in and I told them other intimate things about our friendship, also my voice didn't change either. " OMG Mara, how can you like not tell us this for so long" Lauren angrily said. "no you idiot" I giggled. " girl, what happened " Sophie said with a very concerned look on her face. I personally was confused at that moment because this had never happened to me before and I didn't even know what could cause something like this to happen. After a while we finally drew to
the conclusion that I had somehow been cursed by that light thing.
     "Where's Summer" all three of us asked at the same time. That's when it occurred to us that we had not seen Summer since the incident with the light ball, she just kinda disappeared. "We gotta find her" we all agreed and then we talked most of the morning while I was still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I was actually some kind of beast. Immediately it turned 6:00 am, I felt different and let out a loud howl and the next thing I knew I was back to human again. "WHAT?! " we all jinxed, I had no idea what that was about. And by Sophie being the brains of our trio she figured out that the transformation probably took place by 12:00 am, and the transformation back to human by 6:00 am. But we needed more evidence to back this case so we had to wait another night and see.
     That morning after lectures we set out to find Summer but our search was beyond unsuccessful. We couldn't find her anywhere! We were so frustrated we gave up our search at that time. And also the fact that we couldn't leave school premises limited the places we could check. Meanwhile  back with the girls, Sophie's theory was right, so low and behold we had cracked this nutcase. The following day our search for Summer was even more immense but we still didn't find her. We went to all different hostels and searched her name but we didn't find her. We also showed people our selfies with her but they all said the had never seen Summer around school before. That was when it occurred to us that Summer wasn't even in our school. We couldn't understand how she was allowed to come into our dorm and all how she used to walk around campus with us and no security guards would stop her or something. We danced about on this case for days and then for once I reached the conclusion that Summer was some kind of ghost or spirit.
     Sophie and Lauren laughed at it at first but actually considered the possibility. The only explanation was that Summer was somehow invisible and nobody had seen her when she used to move with us. I remember very well one day we were talking to Summer and one of those mean girls we hate she just rolled her eyes and said "ugh, crazy freaks" and walked away. I think this was just the cherry on the pie that collaborated our story. All this time we had been hanging out with Summer she was not even there. I had to wonder how crazy we would have looked to everyone, especially Lance because I once introduced Summer to Lance and he remained silent, I don't know which was weirder, his reaction or the fact he didn't say anything about her. But after all of this we decided that after our suspension we would sneak out again but this time during the day so that nobody would look for us. Well our suspension was finally over and we took no time in taking action we set out really early after lectures. The plan was going great until just someone had to ruin it, and who knew it would be my mom! Our dorm matron had called my mom about the incident that we snuck out so mom came to school for some hardcore mom to daughter conversation. " I can't believe you! Do you know you could have been hurt? " my mom said angrily. She galivanted on this for minutes almost leading to an hour. I tried to speed up the conversation but you know how parents are. "mom, I'm so so sorry. I was so stupid for doing that. I will never do that again and I love you with all my heart " I said as I put on my star performance and started to cry (fake of course). And my mom being the emotional person that she is broke down in tears and gave me a big fat mom hug. " don't ever do that again baby. Stay safe" she said and kissed my forehead. It was finally over so I rushed back to the girls and we went into the forest. We moved deeper into the forest and finally found the Hut. The light ball was still there even though it was still bright. I tried touching the light ball again but nothing happened this time.
     Then all of a sudden darkness began to close in on us. We were really scared so we decided to make a run for it but we were too late. All the trees around us extended their branches and made a wall around us preventing us from escaping. We were so scared and we held on to each other tight. " who's there? And who are you? " I asked in a frightened tone. " I AM NEPTUNE, GODDESS OF THE STARS! "
