Night blade stood there with her blade in her hand, she pulled up her mask a little, I could see she was smiling. Then the next thing she started to swing her blade in air in a spiral, it brought back a familiar memory, I knew what was coming next. I was frozen in fear, I knew what was coming next but had no idea what to do about it, I was still in my human form so I was obviously no match for her. She started swinging faster and faster and then Jullian out of nowhere appeared right in front of me, he moaned in pain, reality hit me. I couldn't stand it, why was Jullian going through all this pain to protect me? Lance had done the exact same thing to me in the past, why couldn't I do something? Jullian fell to his knees, Night blade hit him real bad, I put him in my arms and held his face, I could see the pain in his eyes. Night blade started to laugh softly " wow, how romantic " she said mocking me, I was so pissed. Jullian quickly rose to his feet, " get back Mara, gotta take care of this prick " he said as he smirked at me, I listened to him and ran to hide behind a tree. I could see Jullian wasn't in his full health but he still wanted to fight, he stretched a little and then with incredible speed he charged at Night blade. I got to see Jullian's power first hand, I knew he was good but not that good! He managed to hit Night blade a few times but still, Night blade was really hard to get, she didn't fight physically so as long as she had her blade she was alright. It was finally 12: 00 am, I transformed to beast form, I wanted to help but I didn't know if I should get in their way so I still hid behind the tree. Jullian was now running out of energy and Night blade was still having fun because she kept on laughing in that sinister way. " This, was fun, but I'm afraid it's time to end this " Night blade said, " Fatal strike! " Night blade yelled, I saw a red aura starting to surround her blade, she swung it at Jullian and then he dropped to the ground. " JULLIAN! " I yelled as I ran up to him, I could see her blade hit his chest, inches away from his heart, I knew how serious it was. " YOU! HOW DARE YOU " I yelled at her with rage in my eyes, " oh, what are you going to do about it huh? And by the way, your boyfriend is dead now so I finally get to kill you! " she said in excitement. She swung her blade again towards me, I was lucky enough to escape right in time ( being a beast sure comes in handy sometimes ) , I dodged her strikes a few times but she eventually got me, and it sure hurt like hell. I turned back to see Jullian attempting to get up, " STOP! " I yelled at him, Night blade looked at him and said with disgust " what a waste " and she hit him hard again in his neck this time. I screamed in anger, why was I allowing her do this to him? Why was he going through all this pain for me? Why can't I do anything about it? Why, am I so useless? I was sick and tired of seeing people get hurt because of me, it made me want to rip someone apart! I was now boiling with rage, I couldn't take it anymore, as I looked at Night blade a sudden lust for blood stained my tongue, the thought of hearing her scream behind her mask made me dazzle with excitement. I clenched my fists, veins began to form all over my fur covered skin, then a familiar feeling started to repeat itself. I grew larger by the second, the hairs on my skin began to rise and a light blue aura started to form around my body, it finally happened again, I unlocked my second form once again.
In an instant, I charged at Night blade knocking her to the ground, she tried to escape my grip but I didn't give her a chance. I started to beat her mercilessly, her high pitched screams were all I could hear, the surroundings around me seemed to fade away but it didn't matter to me, all I wanted to do was beat the life out of her. I guess you could say I wasn't exactly myself at that time though, as I beat her the more, her high pitched screams seemed to turn into cries, soft sweet cries. Crying wasn't exactly what I expected from someone like Night blade, she might have been a blood thirsty freak or whatever but behind that mask she was actually just some wimp. Even after all the beating I wasn't satisfied, I wanted to do more... I wanted to know what her blood tasted like, I opened my mouth revealing my layers of razor sharp teeth, I was ready to sink my teeth into her any moment but then I felt a tap on my back, I looked around and saw a guy standing there, I couldn't seem to recognize him, but the warmness of his touch seemed to spark something in me. In the midst of all my craziness I knew who it was, it was Jullian... For a moment I snapped out of it but went back to my beast mode in an instant. I lifted Night blade's weak body and flung it miles away, I followed her swiftly eager to finish the job. When I reached her body laying there hopeless in the grass, I realized that her mask had started to fall off, I watched in disbelief as I saw who she really was, the whole realization might have been too much for me, I snapped out of my beast mode and went back to my normal beast form. Jullian ran up to me and held me, " are you okay? " he asked, "y-yeah" I managed to answer. " Congratulations, you finally did it again " he said, " y-yeah, I think " I said again. I was still really confused, while I was in beast mode I saw what Night blade looked like but I couldn't seem to remember anymore, why couldn't I remember something I just saw a few seconds ago? I examine Jullian and see the terrible shape he's in " oh lord! " I exclaim, " you need to get back fast so they can heal you! " I say, " nah, it's okay, I'm healing already " he said, I noticed a scar that was there seconds ago was already gone, I was speechless.
Jullian and I headed back to the hideout, on our way I saw something shining on the ground, I bent down to pick it up, I examined it and yes, IT WAS A CRYSTAL!! I wanted to do a victory dance and sing louder than ever but I kept it in mind that I was hiding the amount of crystals I had from Jullian and the rest. I was so happy, I just wanted to scream more than anything, can I actually do this? I thought, we finally reached the hideout. When we got there I expected the usual warm welcome I always get but instead all I got were numerous cold stares from everyone, even Miranda! I wanted to say something but the mood of the room was really discouraging so I kept my mouth shut. The stares were not only directed towards me but also Jullian, he quickly grabbed my hand and rushed into the training room. I really wanted to ask what that was about, I could tell by the look on his face that he was also disturbed, as much as I wanted to ask I just felt like it was something I shouldn't get involved with. The main reason Jullian brought me there was to see if I could unlock that form again. I started to think of what could trigger it, I cleared all thoughts from my mind and was in a state of full concentration. I tried to find that rage that always made it happen, I created images of my mom being strangled and Jullian being beaten in my mind. I kept on thinking of how much of a burden I was to everyone, it pissed me off! I was now actually getting pissed, apart from me trying to unlock the form all the thoughts in my head at the moment made me want to kill myself! I was now more angry than I had ever felt in my entire life, and then, I started having that feeling again and then it happened. Jullian had a soft smile on his face, he was so proud of me, but I still wasn't in my right mind so I charged towards him with a punch that he dodged effortlessly, I tried a few more times but the next thing I remembered was a hard kick hitting me at the back of the head knocking me back to reality instantly. I was still in beast mode but for once I felt like I actually had control over my actions, I actually went back to my base form myself. I was so happy, I tried it a couple more times and it actually worked, I had now mastered it, I was now sure I could defend myself against anything, right? Jullian and I talked for a while, " oh and yeah, Mara, will you be my girlfriend? " loads of blood rushed to my cheeks, what kind of guy was this? How could he ask that kind of question so casually? I didn't know how to answer, the fact that he even asked me in my beast form was what surprised me, didn't it feel weird to him? " no Mara, I don't care if you're a beast or human or whatever, you'll still be as beautiful as you are and I love you regardless " he said, I blushed instantly but I also tried to wrap my mind around the fact that Jullian just read my mind! " y-yes " I stammered, Jullian's face lit up, he grabbed me and kissed me, the butterflies in my stomach were going wild!
Somewhere....
" Master, I'm sorry, I couldn't stop her, I promise I tried, she, she somehow began some kind of, some kind of absolute beast! " Night blade said. " Oh wow, as if I knew, I never should have sent you to do this job " Constantine said while he sat on his throne. " Master, I promise, I'll get her next ti- " Night blade was saying before being abruptly cut off by Constantine, " NEXT TIME?! And now who told you there will be a next time, I gave you a chance before, you told me she was dead but she somehow magically came back! And now you're telling me this nonsense?! " Constantine said, " sorry, master. But I can do this master, I mean it, I'm telling you she has this thing where she becomes crazy, she was too powerful, I couldn't d-" Night blade was saying before she was cut off once again. " Don't bother, no more chances, you've been an absolute waste of time, and you know what happens when you make master angry. You could have killed this girl on so many occasions! You've had so many opportunities but you didn't take them! So I'm punishing you for two reasons " Constantine's words made Night blade shiver with fear, warm tears were now dripping down her face, " I'm sorry ma-" she tried to apologize before being cut off again, " come with me " Constantine said as Night blade obediently followed him crying quietly. After a few minutes they returned from wherever they went to, Night blade was now crying louder, cries of pain filled the air, he dragged her by her hair and tossed her painfully to the ground. Another of Constantine's minions ran in, " master, it's confirmed, the girl has mastered this new form", a smirk appeared on his hideous face, " very well " he said.
