The Beast Inside Me

I'm getting closer

     It was nice knowing I had fully mastered my beast mode, I felt really good about myself. Another thing Jullian was my boyfriend! I still was trying to get over it, I just couldn't believe he actually liked me, I felt like he was too good for me, the same way I felt about Lance. But for some reason it didn't feel right, me dating Jullian, I don't know why but I just felt that way, like it was too soon after Lance. And also, the Basketball was getting really close, I was getting so worried, I felt like I wouldn't be able to do it, sometimes I would just cry into my pillow. And yes, the other non humans were still acting funny, they wouldn't even talk to me or acknowledge if I was in the room, and I wasn't happy Jullian was getting the same treatment, I felt like it was my fault.
     So there I was in my dorm one morning, probably around 3 : 00 am, I was sound asleep but I woke up for some reason, and I don't think I was prepared for what I saw. There in my room was a person dressed in white, I was frozen in shock, then I realized this person had a knife against Sophie's neck. " Shh " the person whispered, Sophie was crying her eyes out quietly, " hand me the crystals, or your friend will die " the person whispered. The person held the knife so closely against her neck that she began to bleed, " stop, please " I begged silently, " the crystals " the person whispered again. I didn't know what to do, I didn't want Sophie to die but at the same time didn't want to give up the crystals so easily. I remained silent for about a minute and then the person pressed harder against her neck and she bled even more, " STOP! " I yelled, and serious I found it so hard to believe that Lauren slept through all that. " Fine, I, I'll give you " I forced myself to say, I saw a smile appear on the person's face, " good " the person said. Instant tears filled my eyes, everything I had worked for was about to come to an end? I rose from my bed and went to where I hid my precious crystals, I took a deep breath and grabbed them. I walked up to the person and reluctantly handed them the crystals, the person let go of Sophie and quickly turned around to leave through the window. I was pissed off, and I had no intention of letting that bastard leave with those crystals, from behind I charged at the person but the craziest thing happened, the person disappeared! I fell face first to the ground, I had no idea how that happened, I looked out the window and saw the person outside, the person sarcastically waved at me and started to sprint in the opposite direction.
     I didn't hesitate, I jumped out the window and chased after the person. I had sight of the person for a while but then after a while the person disappeared again leaving me completely confused. I looked around for a few seconds but then I saw the person again making a run for it, I quickly chased after the person. After a few minutes I finally caught up with the person and hit the person hard in the head from behind, the person fell hard to the ground, i ran up to the person to see the face behind that hood and it really shocked me. It was Summer! I couldn't believe it, when i remembered all the trouble she had put me in, I punched her hard in the face. So all along Summer was with Constantine, but one thing didn't make sense, why?                            

Did Constantine want all this to happen to me? Did he send her to make me touch that light ball? Why? Summer suddenly had a smile on her face, something instantly told me she wanted to pull one of her dirty ghost pranks again so I punched her in the face again. I quickly grabbed my bag of crystals from her, " GIVE IT BACK! " she yelled, " HECK NO! " I yelled back. I could tell that unlike the rest of Constantine's minions she wasn't very skilled at fighting so she wouldn't be that much of a problem to handle. She tried to come at me but i dodged in time and punched her in the face ( I know what you're thinking, I punch a lot right? ) Summer fell to the ground, she looked back at me furiously, but then she disappeared.

     That really was something, I headed back to my room and saw Sophie on the floor, I instantly remembered what had happened. She was bleeding seriously and was also crying loudly, Lauren had finally woken up and she was in complete disbelief. It was a serious injury and it could probably kill her if we didn't do something quickly. We couldn't report to school authority cos we had no reasonable explanation for what had happened to her. I had no other choice but to call somebody, I hurried for my phone and called Jullian quick, at first he was reluctant but he finally agreed to come. Jullian put his healing powers to use and healed Sophie, I was so relieved. " What happened here?" he asked with an arched eyebrow, I finally started to explain to him. After telling him everything I now realized that my crystals were no longer safe with me, even though i thought it was crazy I still gave it a try. I asked Jullian to help keep the crystals for me and to my surprise he agreed pretty quickly, it was a really dangerous move knowing Jullian and the others were also after the crystals but I trusted him.

     Jullian and I left through the window, we wanted to have a talk away from the girls. I talked to him about the whole Summer thing and why Constantine would want me to touch Neptune's light thing. He explained to me that what happened to me wasn't the intended outcome, Constantine was a power seeker and he had probably come across the light ball before. He also probably knew it belonged to Neptune and if there was one person he was afraid of in the whole of Dreamland it was Neptune. He knew how powerful she was and tried to avoid her as much as possible, Constantine probably thought that light ball was some sort of way of getting more power but wasn't sure if it was safe so he needed someone to check it out for him and that's where I come in. It all made sense, or at least i thought so, to be honest nothing really made sense to me anymore, Dreamland was messed up, a part of me wished i never moved there.

     But one thing didn't make sense to Jullian, he was surprised how Summer was even able to touch Sophie. He said mere humans weren't able to see, touch or be touched by Constantine's minions so he was surprised how Summer was able to do that. It really made me think, I asked  him if there was any explanation for how it was possible and he said perhaps Sophie wasn't what I thought she was. The thought of it made my chest beat hard, " is she a beast? " I asked him, " no, I couldn't sense it in her, I know when someone isn't normal, I can sense it but I couldn't seem to sense anything in her. Perhaps its Summer who is different " he said. I finally calmed down a bit, the thought of Sophie not being human almost gave me a heart attack! Well I had that off my mind and could actually relax, Jullian held my hand and kissed my cheek, it made me literally melt ( Jullian really was something, he didn't mind getting fur in his mouth ).

     It finally clicked that it was probably the right time to ask Jullian what was wrong with the others. When I asked it made his face drop, " y-you don't have to answer!" I said quickly, " no its okay Mara. I don't know as a matter of fact, but its really bothering me, I think they have something against us" he said with a smile. " I'm sorry " I said as I lay my head on his shoulder, " its okay " he said as he kissed my head. " Well  I think you should head back to your room, you've got school tomorrow " Jullian said, " you're right " I replied, I was about to leave but for some reason somebody decided to show up. Lance! Again!
