My friend

As soon as I opened the doors, the sound of loud music and cheers filled my ears, it was overwhelming. I stood for about a minute but then I finally stepped in with the girls. The hall was so beautifully decorated and the smell of good food made my stomach growl, I rushed to grab a piece of whatever it was. I just looked around and smiled, the thought that this was probably the last time I would ever see my friends made me tear up a bit, but it was a party so there was no room for tears, I rushed to the dance floor. I ripped off the outer layer of my sparkling sea foam dress revealing a much shorter dress that made it easier to dance in, Sophie and Lauren did the same (yeah we had it planned already). The second we started dancing we grabbed everyone's attention and not to long after everyone joined in. the sound of everyone chanting my name made me so happy, we danced for minutes until I eventually ran out of breath. Then finally we gave honor to the school's basketball team, they even won the college league that year so as you would expect everyone was hyped. After a few hours of partying I wanted to get back to my seat, I wasn't looking so my head bumped into someone's chest, "I'm sorry" I apologized as I looked up. It was Lance! The instant I saw his face I walked past him trying to avoid any interaction but he held my hand, "w-what?" I asked him, "can we just talk?" he asked, "okay" I replied. He pulled me closer and started to slow dance with me, I looked around and saw everyone was doing the same, he started to whisper into my ear. "About the other day, I know what you said wasn't cool but in case you think he hates you or something you're wrong" he said, I instantly knew what he was talking about, but seriously how could he not be mad at me after what I said? I whispered into his ear saying "well, it doesn't matter, I only have a few hours left before it's all over, I can't believe I couldn't get to spend my last moment with him". I buried my face in his chest trying to fight back the tears, "says who?" Lance said, I lifted up my face and Lance had a smirk on his face, "what?" I asked in confusion, the Lance pointed behind me, I looked at where he was pointing and my jaw dropped.

Jullian stood there dressed in a black, sexy, and fitted tuxedo, he held his arm out to me, my face lit up, I gave Lance a brief hug then I ran to Jullian. I dove at him with a powerful hug, "whoa!" he said as we both almost fell over, he wrapped his arms firmly around my waist and I held him tight while I looked into his dreamy eyes. "I-I'm so sorry, about what I said, I didn't mean to.." I was saying before Jullian cut me off placing his finger on my mouth and saying "shh", I obeyed. "I love you Mara, and no matter what you say or do I can never hate you. I totally understand what position you were in, you don't need to apologize" he said, I hugged him again. "I'm so glad I get to spend my last moment with you" I said with my eyes wet, "last moment? What makes you think so?" Jullian said with a laugh, I was confused, I thought he knew, I tried to explain again but he cut me off the same way again. He reached into his pocket, pulled something out and handed it to me, "think again" he said, I couldn't believe my eyes, HE HAD THE BAG OF CRYSTALS! "h-how did, did you?" I asked in complete disbelief, "Well, let's just say Miranda and I had a talk, so she handed it over" he said with a smile. "You might have just a few hours left but it doesn't mean it's over, don't give up okay?" he said, "yes!" I said, "well, I gotta leave now, it's up to you babe" he said. He started to leave, I looked around and saw almost everyone around me were making out so I grabbed Jullian by the shoulder and planted a heavy kiss on his lips, he kissed back and smiled as he left. I placed the bag of crystals in my purse and ran to meet the girls, I told them that it might not actually be over and that I had the crystals back, Lauren was so happy for me, she hugged me and said "you can like do this babe", Sophie simply said "congratulations" as she forced a smile on her face. Sophie hadn't been acting too weird but ever since Lance and then Jullian showed up, every time I turned to see her face she looked sad. I didn't think much of it though, I just assumed she had one of her mood swings again, Sophie sure was one heck of a weirdo.

It was already 10:30 pm, I was running out of time seriously, I started to have a headache from thinking too hard, my friends saw the look on my face and told me I should relax or have a drink. I headed over to get some punch, it tasted great so I had about six glasses, on the seventh glass I started to choke for some reason, I thought it was nothing and that I could just cough it off but I was wrong. I started choking seriously, at that point I thought I was even going to die before I even got a chance to find the crystals, people started to gather around me. Most of them thought it was a joke so they laughed, but they eventually found out I was dying so they started to panic. Lance cleared through crowd and got to me, he got behind me and started pulling on my stomach (you know, like what they do in movies when someone is choking). Others joined in and started to hit my back and do anything to stop me from choking, and eventually whatever I was choking on came flying out. I bent over to pick it up and I'm definitely sure you knew what it was, yup, a crystal! I put it in my purse fast before anyone could notice it, "are you okay?" people asked and I replied with a smile saying "yup". Lance came to me and said "is it what I think it is?" and I replied "yes", he smiled and said "good luck, you can do this". After telling the girls, I headed outside to clear my head, it was already about 10:55 pm, could I have come this far to just one left and still not do this? I thought to myself, but before I could get outside I was attacked from behind. Someone crashed into me knocking me completely off my feet, my attacker also fell to the ground, I looked at the face of my attacker and was shocked, IT WAS SOPHIE! And she had a knife in her hand. "What are you doing Sophie?!" I asked, "just shut up and hand me the crystals" she said with hate in her eyes, "what are you talking about?" then the next thing she placed her knife firmly against my neck, "hand me the crystals and you can escape with your life" she said. I tried to scream for help but she placed her hand firmly on my mouth preventing me from screaming, it all didn't make sense, why did Sophie want the crystals? And was she willing to kill me just to get it? Then it finally hit me that Sophie was probably one of them, one of Constantine's.

I didn't want to believe it, I didn't want to believe that Sophie, my best friend was actually my worst enemy the whole time. So all the time's she would be with me she secretly hated me and wanted me dead, it was too much I couldn't handle it, I started to cry. "So Sophie, you've been lying to me all this time, you're working for Constantine right? Wow, you really are a great actor aren't you?" I said crying softly, Sophie got angry and placed the knife more firmly on my neck, "SHUT UP! Just give me the crystal okay, I don't want to have to kill you, just give me the crystal and it will all be over" she said with her eyes wet, what she said pissed me off so much for some reason, I bit her hand hard, she screamed in pain as I scrambled to get away from her, "come back!" she yelled but I didn't look back, I ran faster until I made it outside hoping that I would be safe, but I was wrong, so wrong. I came face to face with Constantine and he wasn't alone, behind him were thousands of his minions and this time they were all fully equipped with weapons. "What do you want now?! Why come now you idiot?!" I asked in rage, "oh dear, well you see, nobody messes with me and gets away with it, you took something that belongs to me, you took my crystal and you thought I would let you get away with it? I guess not, so I figured instead of running around and trying to take the crystals from you I would just let you do all the work. I had just one before and now I am getting seven, I must say thank you" Constantine said, I was speechless. Sophie finally got outside and started to walk towards Constantine, she finally reached him and stood next to him. "I figured you already know who your little friend here is? Please my Sophie, if you don't mind, please show our little Mara here who you truly are" Constantine said with a grin, I looked at Sophie and saw that she had regret in her eyes, "yes, master" she replied. Then wind started to move around Sophie in a spiral, I didn't know what was happening but it finally stopped, and when it did it revealed who Sophie really was. Sophie, was Night blade......
