The Beast Inside Me

I feel different

" master, a new source of inhuman energy has been sensed", " oh, I see, locate it and bring it to me as soon as possible". " yes sir! ".
    
     So it had been a few days since we had our chat with Neptune, and I had been searching for these so called crystals. I went back for another chat with her to know how much time I had left to find these crystals. And then she told me that the deadline was the " The Basketball ". The Basketball was a dance that took place every year at Dreamland college. Well it's basically like prom but in college and it was mostly about appreciating the school 's basketball team. I took the dance really serious for some reason and I could never miss it no matter what, and also the basketball was about three months from when I was then, so I believed I had enough time. I felt like a real burden to Sophie and Lauren because they had nothing to do with this but they had to help me. A whole week of searching had gone into this and there was no progress, I started to wish I had listened to the girls.
     I started to notice that all of a sudden I had a huge appetite. I loved meat more than anything and became so much more sharp and agile. The only explanation was that my beast side was coming to the surface. I started to feel really uncomfortable, I felt like my body didn't belong to me and I was more eager to find those crystals. Then I also started to have these weird dreams where someone was trying to tell me something serious. She was dressed in a black hoodie and kept on telling me that if I wanted to find those crystals that I must not take a dark path and that if I did I wouldn't be able to succeed . She told me the story of other people that Neptune had taken and still kept. The dreams were kinda scary to be honest and I kept on waking up all the time.
I was on a date with Lance not far from college. It was a really nice date, everything was going great until I noticed what looked like a cult of people dressed in white robes and hoodies. They seemed to just be looking at us and didn't come any closer. Lance seemed to look so worried, "Lance, what is that? " I asked him. "Wait, you can see that?" Lance asked me and I told him yes and immediately I said that Lance grabbed my hand and said "uh, babe? Can we leave now? ", "well, okay" I said. Lance held my hand and ran as fast as he could and we got back to school. When he dropped me off at my hostel he didn't even kiss me goodbye like he used to, he just said bye and rushed off. I was really worried about this, Lance had never acted this way with me, I wondered if I had done anything wrong but I couldn't recall. I still was thinking about those people we saw dressed in white, did Lance know them? I just didn't understand what happened that night.
     Since that day Lance started being distant from me. He would see me coming and just turn the other way. I asked the girls if I had done anything but they said they couldn't remember me doing anything. Lance just stopped even talking to me, I tried sending him a message but he didn't even reply. I just had to assume that Lance hated me now and wanted to break up with me, I sent him a message telling him that we were over. It was one of the hardest thing I had ever done in my life, I tried to be stern when I wrote the letter so that he would know how angry I was, I also asked if I could know what I had done.
     So let's just say I wasn't in the best place, I was heartbroken and also realized that a month had gone by and I hadn't even found one crystal . I was having a walk through the town in an attempt to clear my head, I was walking past an alley when I saw a man trying to rob and violate a lady. "Hey! Stop that! " I yelled at the man as he looked at me and said " stay away or you'll end up like her". I don't know what came over me all of a sudden I felt the beast inside me take over and I punched this man in the face. It looked like a scene out of a superhero cartoon, my punch literally sent this man flying. I couldn't believe my eyes, I had never been that strong in my life, I didn't know how I pulled it off. The lady I saved rushed up to me and gave me a big hug. She thanked me for saving her and I told her it was no big deal. Immediately she left I felt the whole atmosphere change and out of the nowhere something appeared on the ground. I picked it up and looked at it, " I found it! " I said to myself. I finally found one of the crystals, it sparkles like Neptune said and it just felt right. After I found it, I saw two people standing at the end of the alley one dressed in white and the other in black, the looked for a few seconds and parted ways. I was kinda creeped out to be honest but I was still so happy. I was so happy that I ran back to the girls and shared the news. They were so happy for me that they gave me big hugs. We found a safe place in our room that we could protect the crystal and kept it there. I went to bed feeling so happy that night and finally had a lot of hope that I could actually pull this off.
     I woke up real early in the morning let's say about 1:30 am, and I had the shock of my life. I saw one of those people dressed in white ransacking my wardrobe trying to find something. This person was making a lot of noise but didn't wake up the girls so I figured they couldn't hear or see this person. "stop right there!" I yelled startling this person. This person was so surprised to see me and looked scared to me. I guess I wasn't supposed to notice this person so really fast this person made a run for it and dashed out the window. I chased after this person knowing the dangers of revealing myself out by that time. Who knew who could have seen me, but I didn't care. I was faster than I had ever been in my entire life, I chased after this person almost catching up to them. I chased this person not realizing I was already deep in the forest and the last thing I remembered was being hit in the head and my head being covered by a sack.
