Ambrose POV

The feeling of relief that had washed over me since I found out she was alive was unlike anything I had ever felt. The past 3 hours had been an emotional roller coaster for us all but with one look into Wynonna's green eyes, I could only imagine what she had been through. The look of pure disbelief and shock that washed over her face when she saw me was something I would never forget. The way she gripped onto me as if I would disappear broke my heart even more. The entire ride to the hospital she held onto me, barely spoke, and silently cried. I wanted so badly to take her pain away but whatever Brooks had said and done to her inside that building would be with her for the rest of her life and there was nothing that anybody could do to change it.

When we arrived to the hospital, the medical staff was doing their best to clean her up and access the damage done to her, but she refused to let me out of her sight. Her doctor was finally able to talk her into going in for an x-ray and full body scan, letting me stand nearby while they did it to keep her anxiety down. We were left in an examination room on the private floor of the hospital to avoid the press and fans while the doctor went to see what the x-ray's revealed. Her green eyes kept watching me as I sat on the window ledge.

"What's wrong Wynonna?" I finally asked, leaning forward. "Talk to me please?"

"Your real?" She asked, her voice low and so unlike my sister.

"Of course I'm real." I spoke, standing and moving over to kneel next to the table she was sitting on, grabbing her hands that rested in her lap. "I'm right here sis."

"Your really here with me right now? Not just in my mind?" Tears filled her eyes, causing my own to fill with tears.

"I'm right here." I kissed her hands. "I swear, I'm right here." I watched as she closed her eyes, two tears escaping and quickly falling down her bruised and swollen face. "What makes you think I'm not real?"

"He said you were all dead." She spoke, opening her now red tinted eyes to stare into mine. "Colby, Pam, Corey, Renee, you and Joseph." She let out a loud sob.

"No baby." I stood, wrapping my arms around her tightly. "No. We're all here and all alive. I promise."

Holding my sister while she cried, I couldn't even begin to imagine the amount of emotional turmoil she endured. The internal battle she had went through when being lied to like that. He knew how to get inside her head and he did it in the most fucked up way possible. Making her believe that all her family had been killed.

"Hey," I took a step back, handing her a tissue. "I promise you on everything that I love and believe in that I will always be here okay? We're all alive because of your bravery baby sister."

"I caused all this Jon." She spoke, wiping under her eyes.

"No you did not. Him and his gang of shooters he hired did this Wynonna. Not you and don't you dare for one second let whatever he said to you make you think otherwise."

We both looked over at the door as the doctor knocked, smiled and walked back inside with a few nurses. He walked over and placed the x-rays up, along with the body scan, so we could see them before looking back towards us.

"Mrs. Brooks we have discovered that you have 3 broken ribs that are causing some internal bleeding. We need to get you into surgery and get this repaired before more damage is caused. We also know that your nose is broken and you need several stitches in the cut above your eye so we will also handle all of that while we are in the OR. You're also suffering from a mild concussion so we will have to be very careful with the amount of anesthesia we give you, which is why I'm bringing this to your attention now. It isn't uncommon, but it is highly unheard of now days, to go into these type of procedures without the anesthesia and just give you medication to numb your body that wont put you to sleep. That's something we would potentially like to avoid with the concussion, but if we wait any longer we run the risk of more internal damage and that's not something my staff nor myself are comfortable with." He explained.
