Only a few years after the fall of the Empire, Han Solo vanished. He was not seen or heard from for many years.

The next morning, they arrived at Takodana. General Leia Organa Solo's ship orbited the planet.
"We'll take the Falcon down to Takodana." Leia told the pilot.
He nodded.
"Stay in orbit."
"Yes ma'am," he answered.
Han, Leia, Ben, Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewbacca, BB-8, R2-D2, and C-3PO all boarded the Millennium Falcon.
Han, Chewbacca, Leia, Rey and Ben went to the cockpit. While the others gathered in the sitting room. Han and Chewie flew the Millennium Falcon down to Takodana. They landed just outside of a palace that belonged to Maz, the pirate queen of Takodana.
As Han walked down the hall of his old ship, he was stopped by Finn. "Are sure this a good idea? I might be recognized by someone from the First Order."
"Don't worry, kid," Han replied. "Maz is an old friend, we'll be fine."
Finn nodded but looked doubtful.
As they exited the Millennium Falcon, Rey noticed that Chewbacca was staying behind. "Aren't you coming, Chewie?" she asked.
Chewbacca growled in reply.
"He wants to look after the Falcon," said Han.
The group of rebels entered the palace to find a room full of all kinds dangerous looking characters. The room was buzzing with conversation and no one seemed to notice the group enter the room.
Suddenly a voice boomed over the sounds of the crowd. "Han Solo!!!" Every one fell silent and moved aside to reveal a short woman. She had an orange complexion and wore large goggles.
Han chuckled and spread his arms in his normal form of greeting. "Maz," he said with a sideways smirk.
Maz looked around to see that Chewbacca was not with them. "Where's my boyfriend?" she asked.
"He's with the Falcon." Han explained.
"I love that Wookiee," said Maz.
Now Finn understood why Chewbacca didn't want to come with them. There was something about this strange woman that frightened him.
