Only a few years after the fall of the Empire, Han Solo vanished. He was not seen or heard from for many years.
Finally, Han Solo has returned, only to find the galaxy torn by war once again. In his absence the First Order has risen, lead by Snoke...
Han turned to see that the stormtroopers had gotten into speeders and were following them. "Cover us," he told Rey as he moved the speeder away from the group of stormtroopers.
Rey nodded and looked back. She drew her blaster and began firing at the stormtroopers who were following them. The stormtroopers fired back at them. Rey moved her staff by instinct, deflecting the blasts.
"Woah!" said Han. "That was amazing."
"Thank you," Rey said shyly.
Chewbacca shot down the stormtroopers' speeder, with his bowcaster which was far more powerful than a normal blaster.
Han looked back to make sure his wife and son were okay. As he looked back he saw a speeder being piloted by a stormtrooper. Standing on the back of the speeder was a chrome figure. Phasma.
"Give up the map to Skywalker, Solo," she yelled at Ben.
He ignited his lightsaber. A smirk appeared on his face. "Come and take it," he called back.
"Move closer." Phasma ordered.
The stormtrooper moved the speeder closer to Ben and Leia's speeder. Phasma ignited her red lightsaber. She stood on the back of the speeder and stepped towards him. He stood ready to face her. She swung her lightsaber at him, but he quickly dodged it. He moved his lightsaber to stab her, but she side stepped at the last moment to avoid his green blade.
Her red saber flew towards his head, he ducked beneath it. Had he waited a second longer, he would have been dead. The blade of her lightsaber was so close to his head that he could feel it's heat radiating onto his skin as the red light shown on his face.
She pulled her lightsaber back, preparing for another strike. Then she swung her lightsaber towards his head again. This time he raised his lightsaber in time to block her blade. Ben swung his blade rapidly, forcing her back. He stepped his left foot onto her speeder. While his right foot remained where it stood.
"Be careful, Ben." Leia warned.
"I will, Mom," he promised. He continued to swing his lightsaber at Phasma.
He stood with one foot on the speeder that his mother was driving, and the other on Phasma's speeder. The two speeders separated slightly and he struggled to keep his balance. He turned to see a short tree that would go right between the two speeders, where he was standing. He Force jumped over it just in time. But moments after he had regained his footing on the two speeders, they pulled even farther apart and he struggled to keep from falling off. If not for the Force that flowed within him, he would be on the ground. He looked up to see a large tree that would come between the two speeders. There would be no way for him to jump over it, even with the Force. He tried to step onto his mother's speeder, but he couldn't because his feet were too far apart.
"Ben!" Leia cried, realizing that her son was in danger.
He turned to see his mother stretching her hand out to him. He reached towards her and she grabbed his hand. With all of her strength she pulled him onto the speeder.
"Thank you," he said.
She nodded. Then she moved the speeder to catch up to Han.
Han turned to see her speeder right next to his. "Just like old times," he called to her.
"Yeah... you still drive me crazy," she called back.
He gave her an innocent look. "I'm just getting started," he said, and Leia smiled. "Did you find the map?"
"Poe has it." Leia answered.
"Actually BB-8 has it." Poe called back, from his speeder in front of them.
Suddenly Phasma's speeder came up next to Leia's. "So that's where you've hidden it," she called. "Get that droid!"
A second speeder filled with four stormtroopers came up next to Poe and Finn. Finn opened fire on them. One of the stormtroopers fell dead off of the speeder, but a second stormtrooper managed to jump onto the speeder and grab BB-8. The droid squealed in alarm as he was tossed by the stormtrooper. The stormtrooper threw the droid to his comrades.
"Buddy!" Poe called. He looked at the stormtrooper who had taken his best friend away. He punched him, knocking him off of the speeder. The stormtrooper landed in the undergrowth of the forest.
Leia moved the speeder ahead of Han. "Where are you going?" he asked.
"To get the droid," she called back.
"I'll get it, Mother." Ben called. He stretched out his hand and Force pulled the droid from the stormtrooper's grasp. When the BB unit was half way to the speeder, he felt something pulling it away from him. He looked to see Phasma with her hand stretched out towards the droid, pulling him towards her.
BB-8 squealed in alarm as he was suspended in the air between them.
"Han!" said Rey. He looked back at her. She pointed towards the droid. A smirk appeared on Han's face. He knew what the girl was thinking. He moved his speeder to go between Phasma and his son. Once they were under BB-8, Rey jumped up and grabbed the droid. She landed in the seat with BB-8 in her arms.
Phasma and Ben both stared at Rey in surprise. Then Ben realized that the map to his uncle was safe. He breathed a deep sigh of relief.
Han looked back at Rey. She was holding the little droid in her arms. "Good work!" he called giving her a proud smile. He wasn't sure why he felt so much affection for her. He had only known her for a few hours. But she was easy to love and Han saw so much of himself in her. He had been her once, an orphan forced to salvage parts just to get a meager meal.
She just smiled back at him. She could not find the words to respond to his praise. Praise wasn't something she was used to receiving.
