Crimson Devil Part 17

You swiftly stepped to the side as the a blur of neon blue flew past you, it was heading straight to the tree. You turned and walked into the shadows, a pendant around your neck started to glow as the shadows engulfed you. The red crystal in the pendant has some demonic properties like controlling shadows, you could travel through to get to a location quick or it could be used to sneak up and assassinate unsuspected prey. But when it comes to the big things, you had to relay more on brain than brawn.

You followed the Van til it stopped in front of a bridge that has collapse, seeing a soldiers being slaughtered by the demon horde, you hid in the shadows when you saw a young man with short white hair climbed out the Van making quick work of the demons, it even sounded like he was having a good time slaughtering them. You took a closer look seeing a woman climbed out the van as well and knelled next to a surviving soldier. 

Standing up you decided its best to avoid these people because you didn't know what they were capable  of. Sneaking past them in the shadows you avoided detection by the young man and demons, making your way straight to the base of the tree where you wasted no time in climbing up. You heard gunshots echoing from above, using the shadows to travel up until you came to a chamber, and a white haired man with a red long coat jacket shooting at an Empusa Queen repeatedly in the head while walking slowly towards it. You watched him slay the queen with skill and style that was really admirable as if defeating such a large demon was nothing to him but play. The man turned and your heart froze when you saw  the dashing smile he had plastered on his face, a memory flashed through your thoughts from a time when you were just a teenager starting out as a fresh demon hunter. Your heart started to pump faster when the name hit your thoughts Dante. You fell flat on your butt holding your heart thump thump thump, you use to have a thing for him and he used to have a thing for you like a childhood crush thing. Will he even recognise me ? I'ts been so long since you two have parted ways, but you suddenly snapped out of your thoughts as you caught site of a demon trying a fast one, creeping up behind Dante, just as it jumped Dante turned but a shot was heard and a lifeless body fell next to him. What the.. Dante look confused in the direction from which the shot came, it can't be Nero already. A dark slim figure jumped from the ledge walking towards him with a hood covering the face.

"who are you?" Dante asked suspicious as you came to a stop just a few steps from him, you took of your hood "Its been awhile" you said smiling a sweet smile at him. Dante's eyes widen in surprise and took a step towards you "(Y/N) ?" You nodded "wow who would thought we would meet up at a place like this" Dante said getting excited, closing the gap between you , he embraced you with a bear hug, for a moment you were taken competently by surprised by the sudden warmth but returned his embrace. "Its good to see you Dante" you whispered into his broad chest, he chuckled "you to".

The moment stretched as you were still trapped in his hug, you cleared your voice "O shit " Dante said releasing his hold on you, for a moment he forgot where he was. "Shall we?" you said turning you made your way to a ledge that led up "whoah wait wait, this a huge job, you sure you can handle it?" Dante reached for your shoulder making you turn to look at him "Worried?" you giggled seeing that worried expression on his face. You took his hand from your shoulder holding it "Don't underestimate me Dante" you said releasing his hand you jumped for the ledge but the ledge gave way and you fell shit!, but instead of hitting the ground, you felt a pair of strong arms catch you as Dante held you close to his chest he picked you up bridle style "well that was showing me" Dante burst out laughing as your face became a tomato red from embarrassment "shut up Dante" you mumbled "You can let me down now".

Dante set you down and walked over to one of the main roots in the tree that bump blood to the top "Lets take a short cut" he said squeezing though, you saw him shot straight to the top. Doing the same the root popped you out at the top, but you were covered in blood "yuk" you groaned as the iron smell hit your noise. Dante stood a few feet from you also covered in blood from head to toe, his beautiful white haired soaked with red. He watched you wiping your mouth to get rid of the blood and chuckled its a bitch but its a fast way to get around. 

You walked past him giving him a smack on the shoulder, it felt like he was enjoying this a little to much. The two of you made your way to the up, almost reaching the top you heard a screech as hell bats started to gather around you and Dante. Shooting for the wings to weaken them, you used the shadows to gain height as you came down on one, taking out a long dagger embedding it  into its neck. Dante jumped and kicked a bat with force hitting another making them fall, the battle was short but sweet. You couldn't help but noticed Dante as he whooped in delight as he shot a charged shot making a hell bat explode. His wasn't just skilful and stylish but handsome to, his smile always made your heart make leaps and your face flushed red.

Coming to the throne chamber , you were met by two other demon hunters Trish and Lady, of course Dante would have woman around him, you thought feeling a sting of jealousy but you soon forgot about that when you felt a strong presence coming from within the chamber. Bursting through the entrance Dante made his presence known as he waved his arms in the air "Well well, looks like your hunger for power will never change" you peeked around Dante when you saw a huge demon sitting on a throne..

The demon king Urizen.
