Blue Demon Part 24

Nero POV:

My heart stopped for a second when I saw her disappearing between clouds of dust and falling rocks. Jumping to grab her hand I missed her by mere inches, chilling cold rushed down my spine. Head first I dived in after her. Grabbing her around the waist, I shot a grab hook from my mechanical arm, catching us just in time before hitting molten rock below.

Breathing a sigh of relief I checked Lyka, She was out cold "dammit" getting us back up to safety, everything seems to have settled, but there was no longer a path before us but an obstacle course. Turning my gaze back to Lyke I held her in my arms and touched her warm cheek "hey, how long are you going to sleep" I said bit louder tapping her gently but I got no reaction "Okay now am starting to get worried" I whispered still no reaction. But suddenly I got a wiff of blood, noticing the bruise you had on you head. "shit this is not good"

Scooping her up onto my back, I made it through this obstacle course very easily, smirking to myself thinking how easy this is, not even shit like that could keep me back. Reaching the other side, I found a safe place to rest, giving Lyka's bruise another look over but something was a miss, the wound was gone, how is that possible,... is she a demon?, Suddenly questions started clouding my head. Thinking that the answer will reveal in time, I decided to push it aside. I felt tired but we can not stay here. Getting to my feet with a heavy sigh, I had a look around. We were not far from the demon tree but you where in no shape to travel or fight. Mmmmm maybe a working phone is near by.

"aah perfect" There at the end of the cracked up road was a red pay phone. "Sit tight Lyka" I said gazing back at her sleeping form. Turning swiftly I bolted for it. 

Your POV:

Your eyes slowly flutter open, your vision was blurry and you had one hell of an headache. The last thing you remembered was falling, blinded by dust before a rock smashed against your head making you black out. Sitting up straight you rubbed your head, slowly making it to your feet.

"where is nero?" You wondered looking around but he wasn't near you, But suddenly froze when you felt something Drip on your shoulder. Yuk looked like slime. Looking up your heart sank "O shit" Just above you where a Empusa queen, it seems the falling of buildings let this thing out its hole. The demon screeched, waving its claw to swipe you from your feet but luckily you dodged. You took out a gun and aimed this was no ordinary gun as it was forced with the energy of high level demons. Something you stole from the order you where part of. Aiming at the disgusting bug you taunted it "Come on"

Nero just got off the phone, when he heard screeches and sounded like gunshots. "Shit Lyka" Nero bolted towards you, jumping into the fight. "Nero!" A wave of relief washed over you at the site of him, for moment you weren't sure about this fight. But expertly dealt with the demon bug, having some laughs as well. Finally killing it with a final blow Nero turned to smirk as you. But your expression confused him as the alarm in your eyes made him turn around to late as a second queens claw came through Nero's chest.

"Nero!"

The demon screeched in victory, as she held the young demon slayer up as a trophy, Nero spatted blood like a fountain. Grabbing hold f the claw he broke it clean off making the demon screeched in pain as Nero fell to the ground. The Empusa Queen raged in anger charging straight towards him but before the demon could get to Nero, a bright flash made the bug close cover her eyes. You had enough, there was no way your going to loose Nero like that. 

Your angelic form stood in front of Nero who was on the ground holding his chest. Summoning a light sword your wings glowed, with one strike all demons where destroyed as they turned to dust under the purity of the light. Turning around you crouched down in front to him. "So this what you are...an angel?" Nero whispered, she is so beautiful. He could barley talk with this wound and cause of his exhaustion healing was taking longer than he should. You smiled softly at him but Nero suddenly coughed up a pool of blood. "Dammit" he growled.

Seeing him in such a state made your heart hurt, moving closer you placed your hand on his chest, folding your wings around the two of you. Nero looked bit surprised unsure of what you going to do. Golden light started to glow again from your  wings and was emanating from your hand. Nero realised the warmth from your hand was spreading through out his entire body, feeling his wound knit back, closing the hole.

His wound was healed completely and on top of that he felt energised. But the light faded as your wings disappeared and the glow vanished as you turned back to your normal state. You fell forward as your vision became blurry from using your abilities. Nero caught you, looking up at him you smiled weakly. Nero was totally speechless at how it was even possible. A sudden new kind of warmth grew in his heart. Bending his neck his face was mere inches from yours. 

"Nero?"
