"Nero?"

A blush spread across your face as Nero's nose almost touched yours. He...is he really going to kiss me??..., you thought as your heart rate picked up even more. For a moment you held your breath, his so close, you can feel the warmth radiating from his body. His hands cupping your face tightly making escaping impossible. His lips grazed yours but he suddenly pushed you away.

"Am sorry...Lyka" He breathed avoiding your eyes as he looked down, cursing himself. You stared at him in confusion and bit disappointed. But he suddenly got to his feet, leaving you still crouched on the ground. A sigh escaped your lips as you straightened up ' This was confusing, doesn't his heart belong to someone already. A sigh escaped your lips as you straitened up, your face still felt flushed. Dam..

Nico arrived just in time, clearing up the tension in the air bit with her cheery smile. Getting into the passenger seat, you joined upfront while Nero took the back seat farthest from you and Nico. "Whats up with mnr moody back there?" Nico asked taking a glance at Nero. "Uhmm..." for a moment you had no idea what to say as the memory flashed through your mind. Your blush returned as you covered your embarrassed face. "Wait, what where you two up to" Nico asked suspiciously eyeing you up and down. Trying very hard to control the blush spreading on your face "We just ran into some trouble.. you know bug queen" You said as calmly as you could. "mmm is that so..usually that cheers him up" Nico said lighting a cigarette. She was not convinced at all but thought the truth will come out sooner or later.  

Later..

Nico's van sped through the ruined city of Red Grave but came to a sudden stop. You took a glance back at Nero, he was asleep resting his head against his arm. Your heart gave an ache, maybe its best to get some space between you two, he is suddenly making your head all fuzzy and your heart all fluttery. You looked out the window and noticed you knew the area, you are not far from where your apartment stood, well whats left of it. "Let's stop here and head back to Kyrie's, I aint got enough gas for a night drive." Nico said looking over to you "Coming?" Nico asked. Mmmm Kyrie's place..ha..ha no way' you thought. "That's okay, I'll see you guys tomorrow" Not waiting for a replay, you jumped out the passenger seat. Waving back at Nico, you disappeared around a corner. 

Finally out of site you leaned your back against a wall a sigh escaped your lips as your thoughts wouldn't let go of Nero but at least you can relax now. Pushing away from the wall you made your way to your apartment building. It amazes you how the building is still standing considering half of it has been torn away when the demon tree's roots started taking over. It was like the roots where harder than rock and yet it didn't look like that. Jumping from platform to platform you pushed away a black sheet that hung at the entrance, hiding your room inside and kept the wind out. You placed your weapons onto your desk, and falling with a exhausted sigh face first onto your pillow. Letting out a tired yawn, you didnt even bother to change as your eyes closed giving in to sleep.

"We can harvest her ppppp pure energy, and create holy nights to sssssss serve the order."

An evil laughed echoed through the darkness..Where am I?... 

"Start the ttttttest"

That evil voice, no it cant be, you cant be back in that horrible lab!

You woke up with beads of sweat running down your face, it was only a dream. Falling back onto your pillows you tried to calm your breathing. Tears started falling from your eyes, how much longer will your past torment you. Giving up on sleep, you got up and peeked outside. It was still dark out, the sun rays barley visible in the distance. Thinking it would be best to stay here until daylight comes, you decided to freshen up. One thing about this place, it still has running water just no electricity. 

Back at Kyrie's...

Nero was restless, he couldn't sleep at all. He can't get over the fact that he almost kissed you, what was that strong feeling of comfort and longing in his heart. The glow from you was warm and felt like he was drawn to it. Sighing he gave up on sleep, he wished you didn't disappear like that and yet maybe its best. Nero growled in frustration, what will Kyrie do if she finds out...

Nero's heart gave an ache..Kyrie was still afraid of him not so much since he lost his demon arm but she still was not comfortable sleeping in the same bed. She loved him that he knows but his heart doesn't flutter that much for her. But he has to admit seeing you again sparked something inside him as if something lost so long ago was finally found again.

"Lyka" your name escaped his lips in a whisper, it took years to finally kiss Kyrie but with you it was mere minutes. The feeling was so strong he was almost powerless against it, could this be considered as ...

Love?..
