Crimson Devil Part 21

After re-grouping with Nico and the rest, you forced Dante to take a breather as you pushed him down to sit "Stay" you said looking at him with a serious face. He was exhausted yet he still wanted to go after Vergil. You handed him a beer from the fridge "Just take a moment or two to collect yourself" you said softly seeing the frustration in his face. You reached with a hand and touched his unshaven skin. Dante looked up with a smile and chuckled, making you smile in return. He gently took your hand that was on his face into his and kissed it. 

"(Y/N)!" Nero yelled from outside Dammit worst timing ever, you sighed letting go of Dante and stepped outside. "This better be good Nero" You said a little frustrated "I thought of a way to take this creep down" he said excited. After listening to Nero's plan you nodded "Might work" you said taking a glance back at Nico's Van, why do you have this feeling, "(Y/N) whats wrong?" Nero asked confused as you made your way to the Van, Nero following behind. You took a look inside to find it empty "He's gone"

Nero popped his head in to "Dammit Dante" he growled, you shouldn't have left him alone "Looks like were gonna have to test your plan a little earlier" 

Dante jumped swiftly of  a ledge, taking a look back he sighed, his heart weighing heavily "Am sorry (Y/N) " he whispered, Making his way to the top of the demon tree.

Later...

Dante made his way through the tunnel roots of he tree roots. *Bang Bang* Gunshots?. Coming out the tunnel and peeked over a ledge Dammit You and Nero where hot on his trail. He wanted to sort this matter out alone, but the two of you just made it a lot more difficult. Dante looked around, well as he sees it there are two path ways. He took the left knowing through experience and the smell of it, there is a ambush waiting on that path.

"Sorry you two, gotta keep this to myself this time" Dante kicked a boulder creating a rock slide, blocking of the left path "That will keep you busy for awhile" Dante said dusting of his boots. Coming up to the paths, you and Nero automatically took the right. But stopping suddenly feeling a presence near by as you caught a glimpse of a red jacket, "Dante.." You whispered to yourself. Suddenly grabbing Nero' arm, realising you where walking into an ambush but it was to late as you heard snarls coming from all sides as the demon bugs surround you.

"Nero hold them off" you said dashing forward  running against the wall you jumped and grabbed a ledge. "But what bout the plan?!" Nero yelled from below "Plans change Nero!" you yelled back climbing up to the spot where Dante disappeared. "O Come ooon! " Nero yelled in frustration shooting demon bugs left and right in a fit of rage.

This felt like a race, who gets to who first. Following a trail of demon corpses Dante left behind, you noticed the way Dante was killing these demons where one hit kill, he was in a hurry to get to Vergil. You stopped when you heard a crash as a demon lizard came spinning through. You saw Dante sitting on a ledge with his legs crossed and arms folded "Dante!" you called out to him. Dante stood up "Sorry babe but this is something I got to do alone" he said jumping of the ledge to the other side. "Bastard" you growled, this will not stop you. Charging directly at the demon lizard, swinging your sword with anger as you sliced him in half. But another one appeared from underground followed by to more. Pointing your swords towards the demons you said in a threatening tone " Right, who wants to die first?" 

Hearing you rampaging near by made Dante shiver, he is going to be honest, he didn't want to catch you on a bad day. But suddenly his face turned serious, he was getting close now he can feel it. Suddenly breaking into a sprint he was eager to end this quickly.

 The fight with the demon lizards took longer than you thought as you panted for air, landing on your butt, that took a bit out of you. Taking a few moments to calm your breathing, you stood up and pushed on. You have to admit this place was testing your limits.
