Kalani's POV
I looked down at my phone and quickly ended the call
"Kalani..? Who was that..?" Jasmine questioned
"Erm... I ... um - it -"
"Kalani?"
"My... dad?"
"oh my God Kalani"
"Erm-"
"Hey girls, Jas your mum let me in"
"Hey"
"Kalani you look like you've seen a ghost, is everything okay?"
"Erm i just got a call from this guy"
"Okay..?"
"Who says he's my dad-"
"Wtf?!"
"Ahhh I know" I replied messaging Rae
And she replied 'wtaf?!!'
"Are you gonna tell Kamal?" Jasmine asked
"Erm Yh, but in person I guess"
My phone rang a couple more times through the day but I just put it on do not disturb. I tried to enjoy myself but I was so hard when all I could think of was that phone call.

When I got home I went straight up to my room and set myself a nice warm bath and lit some candles. I started to wipe off my makeup and let my hair loose and just then there was knocking on the door.
"Come in" i called walking out of my bathroom
"Hey beautiful, I missed you"
I smiled and went over to hug him "I missed you too Kam"
"How was your day?"
"Well- erm-"
"Is there something wrong?"
"I guess..."
"What is it b?" He asked as we sat on the sofa
"Erm" I took a deep breath
"Take your time" he said moving the hair from my face
"I got this phone call today" I started
"Mmm"
"From this guy who claimed to be my - dad"
His head shot up and he looked at me and I quickly looked away as tears welled in my eyes. I walked to the bathroom to stop the water running
"Kalani" Kamal followed behind me
"How do you feel?" He asked
"I don't know what to feel Kam... he called so many times and I just didn't answer. How can I? He abandoned me... well that's what my - mum said anyways..."
"Ahhh Kalani" he pulled me in for a hug
"I don't know what to do babe" I frowned
"Take your time b, there's no rush. On the bright side, I guess it's a good thing he's reaching out to you"
"Yh but after a whole 18 years..?"
"I don't know babes, he could possibly have a good reason, you know, if your mum was lying-"
"I wouldn't put it past her"'I rolled my eyes
He hugged me and kissed my cheek "come check me when you're finished in the bath"
I kissed his lips and he left me to it

Kamal's POV
I went upstairs to my parents' room and knocked on the door.
"Come in" my mum called
I walked in and started telling them what Kalani has told me
"What she gonna do?" Dad asked
"I'm not sure, I don't think she's sure either" I replied running my hand through my hair
"That's so strange that he's popped up out of nowhere" mum said
"True"
"Make sure you look after her Kamal" dad said
"She's gonna need your support more than ever now" mum added
"Ahh I got her"
