"What is that?" Lilly asked and pointed to a hole in sky, where something was coming out from it. "They opened the portal," Nat said, "we need to get to the Stark tower as fast as possible." She and Barton turned their way towards the tower.

"The Tesseract is on the roof. We need to get it back," Steve said. "How do you know it's there?" Steve pointed to the roof, where a blue ray was coming from. "Unless they are having some sort of party, I don't know where else could it be," he said and looked at Lilly. "You know, when I said that I love this side of you? Well, now your sassing is becoming a little annoying," she told him. "So does your attitude." Lilly gawped at what he said. "Take that back!" He smiled at her and wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Natasha.

"Stark, we're heading north east," Nat said to him. "What, did you stop at a drive-thru? Swing up park, I'm gonna lay them out for you."

They flew around the tower. Some of the Chitauris were heading their way, so Nat pulled out a gun from the jet and fired at them. After that they searched for Loki.

"Yeah?" Asked Barton, when he spotted him. "This is the idiot we were searching for," Lilly added. Barton and Nat turned the jet, facing Loki and Thor, fighting. Just as they wanted to fire, Loki used his sceptre and fired back at them. "Shit!" Lilly said as it the quinjet and shook it. "Hold tight!" Cap said, trying to hold on to the ceiling with one hand and holding Lilly by the waist with the other. "I can help you, but you have to let me out," Lilly said. Nat nodded and opened the door. "You sure?" Steve asked her. She nodded and he let her go.

Lilly flew out from the jet and flew in front of it. She used all her strength to balance it and tried to placed it on the ground as gently as it was possible. She hit the building with the back as she was slowing down the quinjet, which made her lose control over it. She fell down on a car's roof. "Ugh!" She screamed. "Stupid buildings," she said as she got down from the car. She looked in front of her and saw quinjet already 'parked'. All three of them ran outside. "Lilly!" Nat screamed. She put her hand in the air, showing them she's standing there. "I'm fine!" She screamed back. All three of them got to her.

Steve stopped in front of her and looked her up and down. She placed a hand on his shoulder, "it's okay, Steve. I'm alright."

"We got to get back up there," he said and all four of them started running towards the Stark tower. "I'd give you guys a lift, but I'm not sure you want any burns, do you?" All of them stopped as they noticed a giant mechanic monster flying through the hole. "What the..." Lilly said.

The monster flies down towards them. As it passes them all four of them see mini soldiers leaping out from its body. They jumped on buildings and started firing everything around them. "Stark, are you seeing this?" Steve asked Tony. "Seeing? Yes, though hardly believing. Anyways, has any of you seen Banner?" "Banner?" Steve asked him. "We have no time, Steve. We have people to help," Nat said and with that all four of them ran out towards the streets.

"Watch out!" Barton said and pushed Lilly and him behind a taxi, where Nat was already hiding. Later Steve joined them. All four of them saw flying Chitauris above them. They were destroying everything they got their hands on. "Loki." Steve said. As he looked down the bridge he saw people screaming and running. "They're like a fish in the barrel," he added. Clint moved further from them and Nat pulled out her pistols. "We got this, you two can go," she said to Lilly and Steve. "You think you can hold them off?" He asked Clint. Clint pressed a button, which triggered his bow. "Captain, it would be my pleasure," he said and gave him a nod.

Clint shot and arrow into a Chitauri, gaining a few seconds for Lilly and Cap to fall down the bridge. "Ladies first," he said and with that Lilly flew towards, destroying as many Chitauris as possible. Behind her, Steve was running through explosions, with super speed, like a human cheetah.

In front of her cops were fighting with Chitauris and helping people to get to safety. Steve jumped in front of them. Everyone looked at him in a judgemental way. "I need men in these buildings. There are people inside that can run into the line of fire. You take them through the basement or through the subway. You keep them off the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th." "Why the hell should I take orders from you?" Suddenly, an explosion came up from behind Cap. A blast was blocked by his shield. Lilly shot the two Chitauris that were heading for Cap. Cap smiled at her. "I need men in those buildings, lead the people down and away from the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th." They heard the order from police sergeant.

"We need to get back to Nat and Clint," Lilly said and Steve nodded. They went back to Nat and Clint. Both of them were fighting tons of Chitauris, even when Steve and Lilly arrived it seemed like it was going nowhere. "We can't fight off that.many.monsters." Lilly said as she was firing at the Chitauris. Suddenly, lightning came from the sky and hit the Chitauris.

Thor arrived and looked not at all exhausted. "Were you sleeping this whole time?" Lilly asked him. "I was fighting Loki, my brother," he said. "We KNOW he's your brother, you mentioned it only like a couple thousand times." "What's the story upstairs?" Steve interrupted. "The powers surrounding the cube is impenetrable," Thor said. "Thor is right. We gotta deal with these guys." Tony's voice echoed in her head. "How do we do this?" Nat asked them.

"As a team." Steve told her. Everyone looked at him for a second. Lilly smiled on the inside. Perhaps they can fulfil Coulson's wish and become the team of heroes he dreamed of.

The Avengers.

"I have unfinished business with Loki." "Yeah, get in line." Clint said back to Thor. "Save it. Loki's gonna keep this fight focused on us and that's what we need. Without him these things could run wild. We got Stark up top, he's gonna need us..." Steve stopped talking as he heard a motorbike nearing them. "Banner?" Lilly asked.

He got off the bike, looking around the city. "So, this all seems horrible." He commented. "I've seen worse," Nat said back to him. He looked at her and said "sorry." "No. We could use a little worse."

"Stark? We got him." "Banner?" "Just like you said," he added. "Then tell him to suit up." After a short pause he added "I'm bringing the party to you." After he said that, all of them looked at him, flying next to a building followed by a flying monster. "That is a party I haven't been to," Lilly said, looking up.

"Dr. Banner, now might be a good time for you to get angry," Steve said to him. "That's my secret, Cap," he paused for a second.

"I'm always angry." As he said that, his body started to grow and turned green.
