*That night/Early morning of April 8th*

I flew all the way to the hospital. Fury was shot, I don't think I can lose anyone else to this business. I ran inside to the operating room and stood next to Steve. They had just cut him open. "Is he going to make it?" I asked out loud.

"I don't know." Steve answered me.

"Tell me about the shooter."

"He's fast and strong. He had a metal arm." He said.

Maria walked up beside me, "Ballistics?" I asked.

"Three slugs. No rifling and completely untraceable." She mumbled.

"Soviet made?"

"Yeah." Maria said looking at me confused.

Fury's state starts to deteriorate. The doctors are yelling over each about medical things they need. "Don't do this to me, Nick." I whispered.

They tried shocking his heart. The reviving wasn't working. Tears welled up in my eyes. "No, Don't do this to me. Don't..." I whispered.

The doctors tried again. Fury was still showing no reaction and flat-lining. I heard the doctor say, "Time of death, 1:03 am."

Steve turned away, and so did Maria. Tears hit my cheeks and I couldn't do anything to stop them. They finally let us into the room to see him. Watching him not moving was killing me. He had become such prominent father figure. I already lost Coulson; I couldn't believe I was losing him too.

"We need to take him." Maria said behind me.

I heard Steve move up behind me. "Natasha." He says.

I raise my hand to my lips, and then press them to his head. I turned and walked out with tears falling again. When I exited the room Steve hollered for me. "Natasha!"

"Why was Fury in your apartment?" I asked him.

He looked around for a second, threw his hands up, and shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know."

I glared at him. "Captain, they want you back at SHIELD." Rumlow interrupted.

"Yeah, give me a second." He told him.

"They want you now." Rumlow said again.

Rumlow was acting weird and I didn't like it. "Okay." Steve said aggressively.

"You're a terrible liar." I told him when I finally had his attention again.

I turned and walked away. When I reached the nearest corner I stepped behind it and spun around. I dropped to the floor, and peeked around to keep an eye on Steve. He was acting weird, but so was Rumlow. Steve put something into the vending machine next to him, and walked away.

I watched him leave the building with the Strike team. The guy closed the vending machine door and locked it. I walked around the corner, and up to the machine. I bent down and looked for anything that wasn't food. There it is; the flash drive I hacked. "Why did Steve this?" I mumbled silently.

It was behind three packs of gum. I looked down at the price. "A dollar twenty-five. Come on, Rogers. You owe me after this." I whispered out loud.

Five dollars later; I have three packs of gum and a flash drive. "He will probably be back for this, so let's see how long this will take."

I walked into the room across from the vending machine to wait for him. I pulled out my phone and decided to fill in Clint on what had happened.

"Hey." He answered.
