Finding Steve and Alex

Fury heads down the river; it takes us five minutes, but Sam spots him lying on the bank unconscious. We drop down about fifty yards away from him. Sam and I jump out and run to him.

"I see multiple gunshot wounds and his face is pretty messed up. Fury call the nearest hospital. Sam help me get him to the chopper." I said barking out orders.

As soon as we are back in the air; I signal Maria. "We found him. He's in bad shape. We are taking him to the nearest hospital. Then Fury is taking me to my car, and getting out of town for a while. I'll keep tabs to let everyone know what's going on. Go into hiding for a week or so." I tell her. "Oh, and Maria?"

"Yea?"

"Make sure you come visit." I tell her.

"I will. Be careful everyone." She said and went radio silent.

While I was talking; we made it to the hospital and Fury and I watched as some doctors, nurses, and Sam took Steve away to start his treatment. We rose back into the air, and headed toward my car. A few minutes later we made it there with no hiccups. "I'll see you in three days' time and then again in a few weeks, right?" I asked

"Yes, I have business to take care of, and you have a family to check on. Be careful, Natasha." Fury spoke.

I nodded and jumped out of the chopper, so he didn't have to actually touch the ground. He lifted back up, and I jumped into my car. I raced out of the parking lot, and started for the safe house. "I hope I get there in time." I whispered.

After a twenty-minute drive, I finally arrived to the safe house. I jumped out open the trunk, I grabbed two more magazines for my guns, five more stingers, four more knives, and another cable for my gauntlets. I ran into the building and up three flights of stairs. I stopped just outside the door, and took a deep breath. I drew one of my guns, and tried the door knob. It was locked, I pulled out my key unlocked it, and slowly opened the door. I took two steps in using the door as a shield and checked the living room. I kept going in, and shut the door behind me after checking behind it.

I went to the front closet, threw it opened, and checked inside. I looked down the hall towards the bedrooms noticing that doors were closed. I walked over to the bathroom on the other side of the living room keeping an eye out for the hallway. I stepped in, looked around the bathroom, and found nothing.

I stepped back out, and decided to check the kitchen. I was getting a little worried not seeing anyone yet, but seeing proof of people once here. Cups with drinks still in them, television on low, snacks still on the coffee table, and the table covered in a couple of pizza boxes. Once I entered the kitchen I found out why. There in the middle of the floor was a student, that I remember training as a cadet a few years back, with a well place bullet hole in his chest and a couple in his abdomen. Now, I was very concerned. I took another breath trying to calm my nerves, and walked back to the hallway. The first room I came to was the boys' room. I opened the door slowly, and walked in. I checked the closet, and under the bed. Nothing was in there besides a couple of bags of clothes and used beds.

I then checked Scarlett and Alex's room. Again I found nothing, but two more bags of clothes and messed up beds. I then went to my room. I stepped out of the way of the door, and turned the handle to open it. "Alex?" I questioned.

I pushed the door open even further, and hear. "Mom?!" I enter the door way with my gun still drawn to see Alex, Olivia Adams, Emma Jones, Kendra McKinley, and Gavin Brooks. All of them dressed like SHIELD agents, and guns at the ready.

I rushed in and over to Alex holstering my gun. I started checking over Alex and asking questions, "Are you guys okay? I saw the person on the floor in the kitchen. What happened? Is anyone hurt?"
