My eyes fluttered open as rays of sun peaked through the slightly open blinds. Where was I? The room I was in was very unfamiliar and cold. Sitting myself up as carefully as one could, I felt my head start to throb. My throat was dry and scratchy, making me unable to talk. The only thing I did know was that I was in an apartment. It clearly wasn't decorated by a woman but it still was nice.

Okay Mellie, you need to find a way out of here. It couldn't be that hard.

Letting my eyes wander, I noticed an single picture frame on the nightstand next to the bed. I quickly but quietly roll over and pick it up.

Oh my god, it was of Shawn. I was at Shawn's , in Shawn's bed.

I scurried over to the railing overlooking the rest of the apartment. There he was, fast asleep on the couch, lightly snoring. Picking up the end of my dress, I tiptoed down the stairs, being extra careful not to trip because any noise would surely wake him up. Shawn looked so peaceful.

How could he be so angry and demanding one minute and then the next be so sweet and innocent looking?

Before I could leave, I had to find my phone. There was no chance in hell that I was going to walk home in a ballgown. Too much attention. People would stare and take picture, those pictures would end up online and boom, the media would fabricate some new story about me.

There was a landline sitting on the kitchen counter but I didn't want to risk it making any noise so I opted out of that. My phone was nowhere to be found and the longer I stood there looking for it, the better chance Shawn had of waking up.

I was out of options, either use the landline or start walking. Out of nowhere, I heard a faint buzzing. I spun around in the direction it was coming from. In the dimly lit room, I saw a phone screen light up. There, sitting in plain sight was Shawn's phone.

Shawn started to stir on the couch. He clearly could hear the phone. This was your chance Melody, take his phone and run for it. My brain was screaming at me to just do it but my body wasn't moving.

Melody, go already! I screamed in my head.

My feet started moving. What was I thinking? What if he had a password on his phone? Who were you going to call?

Right as I was reaching for the phone, Shawn's eyes shot open. He was staring right at me.

"Mel what are-" he stared as I snatched the phone from the table.

I started to panic. Looking towards the door and then back at Shawn, I had two options. Stay or run.

I chose run.

Shawn's POV
I pulled her in for a hug, hoping she would realize how much I wanted her. Her tiny body tried pushing me away but I held onto her tight. Out of nowhere, she started crying and screaming.

"Stop!" she yelled.

Panicking and not knowing what to do, I put my hand over her mouth. I didn't want anyone to find us.

"Melody, please just calm-"

Before I could finish my sentence, her body went completely limp. The screaming and crying stopped. Before she could hit the ground, I grabbed her and held her up. Is she dead? Did i just kill her?

"Mellie?" I whispered, shaking her body. "Oh for dicks sake. Fuck."

I put my ear to her chest to make sure she was breathing. Luckily, her heart was still beating strong. Looking around to see if anyone was around, I wrapped her in my suit jacket and carried her bridal style to the back gate of the house.

"Shit. Fuck." I sneered, setting her down lightly, making sure to not hit her head.

How was I going to get us out of here if I didn't have my car? The only reason I was here was because I was invited by another girl. She needed a date and she was hot as fuck so I tagged along. It's not like I can just walk up to her and explain what happened. There is no way she is going to agree to take an unconscious girl and a guy who just ditch her anywhere.

I patted my pants pockets looking for my phone. I dialed Andrews number and waited for him to pick up.

"Yo." Andrew answered.

"I need you to come get me." I ordered.

"Uh... kinda busy here." Andrew replied. "Take an uber."

I could hear the guy in the background screaming at the tv. They obviously playing fifa and pigging out on chips.

"Fuck you. I've gotta get home, now." I growled, trying not to disturb Mellie.

"What happened to Kendall? Why can't she drive you?" he asked, chomping on chips.

"Something came up and I need a ride back to my place. Now hurry up and send someone."

I hung up the phone and texted him the address.

"You owe me bitch. -Andrew 10:33pm"

Rolling my eyes, I looked back to Mellie. She was still out cold. I sat down beside her and pulled her into my lap. The rain had soaked us both and the fact that it still was raining wasn't helping how cold I was.

20 minutes later Andrew pulled up in his black and rolled down the window.

"There is no way in hell you're pulling a sopping wet girl on my leather seats." he whined as I walked up to the car holding Mellie.

"I buy you new seats." I replied, opening the back passenger door and sliding Mellie inside.

"Two questions, why is she wet and why is she fucking dead?" Andrew asked, poking at her leg.

I got into the car and immediately hit his arm.

"Don't touch her."

He apologized and put his hands up like he was surrendering. We quickly took off in silence. Out of nowhere, Mellie slowly sat up.

"Where am I?" she asked, looking around.

"We're going home." I said, turning around so that she could see my face.

Her eyes grew wide as soon as she realized it was me.

"Let me out!" she screamed, reaching for the door handle.

Andrew started to pull the car over but I gave him a death glare and he got the hint. He nonchalantly locked the doors. Mellie started screaming and kicking at the door.

"Let me go! I wanna go home!" she sobbed.

"Oi! You better not fucking ruin my seats!" Andrew yelled, looking at Mellie in the rearview mirror.

I turned completely around to face her. She was curled up in a ball, silently sobbing. Her dress engulfed her in the tiny backseat.

"Please stop crying Mel. I'm just trying to help you." I comforted.

She refused to make eye contact with me. Using the end of her dress, she wiped her eyes and laid completely down. The rest of the ride home she was silent.

15 minutes later, we arrived at my building. Andrew and I got out and ran to take cover under the canopy over the main door.

"What did you do to her?" he asked, punching me on the shoulder.

"Don't fucking come at me. She was fine until she tried to get up and walk away from me. We were in the middle of a fight when she just fell to the ground like she was dead."

"Who even is this chick?" he asked, looking back to the car where Mellie was fast asleep.

"Her name is Melody. I met her a month ago and it's been complicated."

He looked at me with wide eyes.

"Melody Hutson? The diplomat's daughter you met at the gala? The girl that caused your dad to send you away? You fucking kidnapped her?"

"I didn't kidnap her, dickhead. Kendall invited me to her friends posh party where I knew Mel was going to be so I waited all night for her and we finally bumped into each other." I replied.

"So you guys were just fighting for fun?"

"God no. You're stupid." I yelled. "She snuck out into the garden and followed her. She seemed really into me, kinda like the first night I saw her, so I tried to make a move. Then there was crying and yelling and before I could tell her not to go, she fainted!"

Andrew rolled his eyes and sighed.

"If you were just trying to get into her pants, then why is she in the back of my car asleep?" he chucked. "Didn't you just meet this chick?"

Ignoring Andrews last question, I ran over to the back car door and retrieved Mellie. I carried her bridal style into the building with Andrew following closely behind. We took the elevator up in silence and hurried to my apartment.

"I'm going to put her upstairs, I'll be right back."

I ran her up the stairs and laid her gently on the bed with her head resting on my pillow. I laid a small throw blanket over her shoulders to keep her warm. Leaning down as quietly as I could, I moved her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear, leaving a tiny kiss on her temple.

"It's been a long night mate, you wanna drink?" I asked, rolling up my sleeves.

Andrew nodded yes and took a seat on the sofa. I reached into my fridge and pulled out two beers. I took a seat across from Andrew, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Didn't you just meet this Mellie girl? Aren't you technically engaged to Kendall?" Shawn asked, as I handed him his drink.

"Yes and yes. Now stop asking so many questions." I sneered back. "What don't you understand?"

"You've just never acted this way with anyone, not even Kendall. Who may I remind you are are engaged to!"

I rested my head on the back of the couch and stared up at the ceiling. Yes, I know I'm technically engaged to her but that doesn't mean I love her. The engagement was more for show. Don't get me wrong, Kendall was absolutely stunning but she was dumb as shit.

"Dude, stop reminding me." I said, rubbing my temples.

Kendall took the engagement super seriously. She made me go to dress fitting and all these other useless appointments. I wasn't actually going to marry her.

Two Hours Later
"Well I hope everything works out." Andrew said, shaking my hand.

Chuckling, I shoved Andrew out the door and shut it behind him. I snuck upstairs and changed into pajama bottom and a gray t-shirt. Mellie was sprawled out over the entire bed so I guess I was taking the sofa.

"This is what I get for trying to be nice. I get a passed out girl and a night on the sofa." I mumbled, grabbing a pillow and blanket.

I threw the uncomfortable sofa pillows across the room and flopped onto the sofa. This was going to be a restless night.
