The drive from New York City to Georgetown was four hours. Four straight hours stuck in a car with Shawn? Oh hell no. There was no way that I was going to sit in a any car with anybody for that long. Knowing Shawn, he would want to drive there with little to no stops. I, on the other hand would most definitely need to stop once or twice.

"4 hours isn't that bad." Shawn said, looking down at the newspaper.

"That's 3 hours too long. Plus, we would need to leave soon to make it there in time."

"Why didn't you plan this better? Pack us a bag and let's go." he complained.

"We're talking the helicopter." I demanded, crossing my arms. "And you can pack your own clothes."

Shawn looked up from the paper and shook his head.

"Sorry, who owns the helicopter?"

"What's yours is mine!" I shot back.

"As if!" he chuckled. "Go pack."

I bent down and took off my slipper then tossed it at his face. It hit him directly on the jaw.

"Excuse you!" he yelled, tossing the slipper on the floor.

"I don't know about you but I'm talking the chopper. You can drive!"

I looked at his cellphone sitting on the counter and then back at him.

"Oh you better fucking not!" he joked.

Lunging at the same time, we both struggled to reach the phone. I clutched it in my hands and took off running for the first room I could find that had a locked door. I ran up the stairs into the bedroom. I shut the door but before I could lock it, Shawn started pushing it open.

"Give it!" laughed Shawn.

"Say it!"

"No!" he yelled back.

"Say it!" I shouted louder.

"We're taking the helicopter!"

I release the door and he ran inside.

"Here." I smiled, handing him his phone. "I have to pack now."

He crossed his arms and shook his head at me. I always got my way with him. Mr. Bad Boy wasn't so bad when it came to me.

A few hours later, with our bags packed, a car came and took us to the airport and directly onto the tarmac. We boarded and were in the air 20 minutes later. It was a family rule that no matter what type of party it was, you had to dress presentable. Of course this party was a black tie and gown type of party, even though it was at my parents house.

We landed 90 minutes later and quickly rushed off to my parents house. Shawn had reserved a car from some high end sports car dealer so that we wouldn't have to have a driver. We pulled up the gates and the valet took the keys.

"Not bad." Shawn said, looking at the front door.

I straightened his tie and linked arms with him.

"One last thing." I started. "I didn't tell them you were coming."

Shawn's eyes got wide and he looked like he was about to run. The front door opened revealing my two extremely shocked parents.

"You brought him?" my father questioned, glaring in Shawn's direction.

"Nice to meet you too sir." Shawn replied sarcastically.

They awkwardly shook Shawn's hand and gave me a hug. We got inside and I started introducing my family to Shawn. Most of my cousins knew who he was because they obviously had smartphones.

"You're so lucky Mellie!" my younger cousins blurted, blushing at the sight of Shawn.

We wandered around the party for a while longer before Shawn quickly pulled me into the powder room. He locked the door behind us. He pulled me in close and started kissing all over my neck.

"Doesn't it turn you on knowing that we could fuck right here while your parents were right outside?"

He swiftly lifted my legs up, forcing me to wrap my legs around his torso. It was kinda hot having to sneak around. I clawed at his back and moaned as his hands navigated my curves. Shawn started to slow down as he started to assume that I would push him away.

"Keep going." I moaned in a raspy voice.

"Fuck, really?"

Nodding my head yes, he let me down and advanced on me. He quickly unzipped his pants and let his member free. I grabbed it in my hand and started to move up and down. His hands removed my panties and tossed them aside.

"Shit."

"What?" I whined.

"The condoms are in the car."

I bit my lip and let go of him. Was this a good idea? One time wouldn't kill me. I was on birthcontrol and we had been super careful.

"Do it." I demanded, lifting my skirt up.

"Mel, I-"

"Do. It." I ordered. "I need you."

He grabbed my hips and slowly slid into me. I rested my hands on his shoulders as he picked up the pace. He went faster and faster, hitting my g-spot everytime. He finished and twitched inside me.

"Oh my god." I groaned, resting my head on his chest.

We quickly cleaned ourselves up and returned to the party as if nothing had happened. Shawn would occasionally look down at me and smirk, reminding me of what we had just did. Before we knew it, It was finally time to sit down and eat. The staff got together another place setting next to me for Shawn. We all sat down and the first course was served. Awkward small talk started.

"So how's New York?" my mother asked, turning towards me.

"It's been pretty good." I quickly answered.

"Where are you staying?" she questioned, begging for information.

I looked at Shawn with the look of fear on my face.

"I bought her a place." Shawn finally chimed in.

"You what?" my father asked, almost choking on his food.

"He bought us a place." I corrected.

The table went silent.

"How much?" father demanded.

"That's none of your-" I started.

"$22 million." interrupted Shawn.

Everyone nearly spit out their food.

"You must really love this girl." my grandmother chimed in, laughing.

"That diamond ring on her finger, $17,000. That , $1,000. The shoes, $700." he bragged. "Oh and her purse, $1,500."

"Melody, why would you spend so much money? That's outrageous!" mother scolded.

"She doesn't ask for anything." Shawn shot back.

"I don't like this at all. You hardly know this boy." my father said, starting to get angry.

My grandmother cleared her throat and stood up.

"Shawn, do you love Melody?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Yes." he replied, placing his hand on mine.

"Melody, do you love Shawn?"

"Yes." I replied, smiling at my grandmother.

My mother loudly scoffed and took a sip of wine.

"You don't know what love is."

"You two are just being young and foolish." my father added.

"You two just need to shut the fuck up." my grandmother shot at both of my parents.

Shawn and I's eyes got wide as we tried to contain our laughter.

"If I remember correctly, you two met as teenagers and ran away the day you turned 18." she started. "You think I was happy about it? Hell no. I was worried sick and just wanted to keep my baby boy for a few more years. I don't see what the problem is. If they are in love, let them be."

"That was different." father shot back. "We didn't have money. I had to work for everything I have."

"And you think Shawn and I just sit around doing nothing all day?" I interrupted. "We both have paying jobs."

"You and Shawn are children who are going to regret this. You think that he actually loves you?" my mother yelled.

I stood up and threw my napkin on the table.

"Oh please, you're just mad because you can't control me anymore."

"We have given you everything and this is how you repay us? You go off and be an ungrateful little bitch. . We tried to fix you but it clearly didn't work. We had hand picked you a husband and you choose this loser? He's dangerous and unsophisticated. He will use you and toss you aside!" my mother yelled in my face.

A single tear ran down my face. I grabbed my glass of wine and threw it right in her face. Turning quickly around, I ran out of the room and into the small powder room, slamming and locking the door.

Shawn's POV

"How do you sleep at night knowing that your last child who talks to you now hates you? Do you enjoy causing her pain because it tears me apart when she is upset. I guess that's the difference between you two and I. I actually care about her and you two just want her for profit." I shouted, standing up. "Lose her fucking number and have a miserable life."

I started to walk out of the room before turning to Ms. Hutson, Mel's grandmother.

"It was a pleasure meeting you ma'am. Feel free to visit us anytime and please stay in touch." I said, kissing her on her hand.

"Good luck and tell Mellie that I love her."

I nodded and turned back to Mel's parents.

"You can call my father and bitch about me. He's just pissed because he's broke and knows the minute I marry Mel, I'll stop giving him money." I laughed. "I'm going to marry her someday, and then you guys can deal with my broke, alcoholic father."

I stormed out of the room and over to the door where a lady was quietly knocking on it.

"Oh you must be Shawn." she smiled. "I'm Zoe."

Mel had told me all about how much she loved Zoe and how she practically raise her. I knocked on the door.

"It's me."

She flung open the door and jumped into my arms.

"I'll have them get your car." Zoe whispered.

Mel sobbed into my shoulder.

"This was a mistake."

"Oh it wasn't that bad." I joked, causing her so slightly smile.

The car was pulled around. I wipped her tears and lead her to the car. We went straight to the helicopter and flew directly home.

"Thank you." she whispered as we stepped back into the apartment.

"Fow what?" I asked.

"For loving me no matter what others say."
