"Kendall?" Shawn asked, quickly turning his head towards her.
Panicking, I quickly pushed Shawn off of me. I don't know who this girl was but she obviously was under the impression that she was in some sort of relationship with Shawn. You could tell by Shawn's face that he was not expecting her to just show up.
Ok no, I'm not jealous. Shawn and I aren't really dating but it is quite the shock to have someone just burst of an elevator and start screaming.
"Are you cheating on me?" Kendall screamed. "With her?"
Shawn shook his head laughing and pushing his hair out of his face.
"Don't start Kendall. You're no where near perfect."
"I would NEVER cheat on you baby!" she said, acting super bitchy.
"This bitch." Shawn said, looking at me and pointing at Kendall.
Kendall's mouth opened, nearly hitting the floor. She pushed me out of the way and got in Shawn's face. Shawn's eyes grew dark.
"If you ever lay another hand on her, I will murder you." he growled, pushing Kendall back.
"Why are you protecting her? She's just a one night stand!" Kendall whined. "I'm your fiance!"
"You're a cunt. That's what you are."
This time, my mouth nearly hit the floor.
"I don't think your father would approve of you cheating on me with her." she said, giving me the bitch face. "Now tell her to leave so that we can plan our wedding."
I put my hands up as if I was surrendering.
"Kendall just leave." Shawn said, pressing the down button to call the elevator.
"If I leave, I'm going straight to your father!"
"Do it Kendall, I dare you." Shawn laughed right in her face.
She rolled her eyes at the reaction Shawn gave.
"Not to interrupt this, but I really would like to just, I don't know, maybe go home." I said, butting in on their fight.
"Mel, stay. Kendall was just leaving." Shawn said, pointing to the elevator and looking at Kendall.
"Bye!" Kendall said, waving to me.
Shawn rubbed his temples and shook his head again. He was mumbling curse words under his breath. Shawn was getting really upset and you could tell that his patience was wearing thin. Turning on his heels, he ran back to his apartment.
"I don't know who you are but everyone knows Shawn likes to fuck around but at the end of the day, he's going to marry me." Kendall bitched.
"Cool?" I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"So don't expect any money or anything. That's all mine!"
Shawn ran back to the elevator lobby and stood next to me.
"I called you are car. I'm really sorry about this." he started, glaring at Kendall. "I'll call you, okay?"
"Um, well, my phone is-" I stated.
Shawn conveniently handed me my phone back.
"I just was keeping it safe." he smirked, kissing my cheek.
I smiled and shook my head at him. This bastard had it the entire time. The elevator doors dinged open once again and I stepped inside. Shawn kissed me goodbye on the forehead and stepped out of the way of the doors.
"Bye whore! Guess your plan to take my boo's money failed! All mine!" Kendall waved.
Before the door could close completely, I stuck my hand in the way so that the doors would open again.
"Prenup bitch." I said with a straight face.
The doors slid shut and I was alone. I could hear Shawn laughing and Kendall getting pissed as I descended 65 floors down.
I reached the bottom floor and was escorted to a black Escalade. I gave the driver my address and he took off. I watched where we were going to see if I could recognize where Shawn lived. We passed the capitol and headed towards home. 20 minutes later, I arrived at my front gate.
"Is this it miss?" the kind driver asked.
"Oh yes! Thank you so much!" I said, feeling embarrassed that I didn't have any money to tip him with.
He noticed my expression and smiled.
"It's completely taken care of miss. Mr. Mendes is covering it." he said, smiling even bigger. "I'll wait here until you get inside."
I thanked the nice man again and stepped out of the car. I typed in the code, causing the gate to unlock. I waved to the driver one last time and stepped inside. I scurried up the the front door and snuck inside.
The entire entry way was filled with police and agents.
"Melody!" my mother screeched, running over to me and pulling me into a hug. "Where have you been? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." I replied, pushing her off of me.
"Where have you been young lady?" my father asked, crossing his arms. "You've wasted a lot of people's time and missed two events because of your stunt."
I looked down at my feet and shook my head. Literally nothing has changed. All my parents care about it me coming home so that they can parade me around. I was their little show pony.
"Did you meet Waylon last night? Is that where you were?" my mother asked, begging for answers.
So not that they want answers they are going to be nice? Not gonna happen. I ignored them both and pushed past everyone to get to the stairs.
"Where is Zoe?" I asked, looking around the room.
"In her room worried sick about you!" my mother bitched.
"Please send her up to my room as soon as possible."
I turned back to go back upstairs as people were packing up their items and moving out.
"Melody we need to talk about this." my father pressured.
They were really starting to get on my nerves.
"Can you stop asking so many questions?" I begged.
"Please just tell us where you were!" my mother begged again.
I turned to face them. I knew what i was going to say was going to send them into complete shock. At this point, I didn't give two shits what they did or said.
"I'm moving out."
Shawn's POV
"Prenup bitch." Mellie said with a straight face.
I couldn't help myself. I burst out laughing and almost fell to the ground. Kendall got mad really easy and always would take low blows at you. Like how I didn't get her a birthday present one year so she started bitching about how she was going to leave me like my mother did. It was those things that really pissed me off. Don't talk shit about my family unless you're prepared to get hit.
"You would never make me sign one of those thing, right baby?" Kendall asked, trying to get all touchy feely.
"Get off of me." I grunted, pushing her away.
I was in need of a serious nap.
"Goodbye Kendall." I waved, turning and walking back to my apartment.
Kendall followed closely behind, bitching about the wedding and all this other stuff I didn't care about. I attempted to go inside alone but she weaseled her way in.
"Give me the ring back." I finally blurted out.
"W-what?" she asked, completely in shock.
"The ring. I want it back."
"So you can give it to that whore? Mille or whatever?" she faked cried, clutching the ring.
She was so dramatic. In the two years we had been "dating" I had never seen her show any real emotions. In front of the cameras she was so happy and acted as if she was so happy to be with me and behind closed doors, she would bitch about how much money I didn't spend on her.
"God no. If i'm going to propose to MELLIE, she'll be getting a ring three times that size." I laughed, making her face turn red. "What you're wearing is chump change. I only want it back so that you don't go around saying we are engaged anymore. The wedding was never going to happen Kendall."
Kendall looked at the ring on her finger.
"But baby! I love you!"
I looked at her with an awkward judgment . I burst out laughing. She says 'I love you' when it's convenient for her. 'I love you' to her is like 'I'm out of money, buy me things!'
"Leave the ring on the counter, I'm going to go take a nap." I yawned, walking up the stairs.
Kendall threw the ring on the counter, screamed, broke a lamp and stormed out, slamming the door extra hard to make sure I got the message. Cool Kendall, you're mad. I'm pretty sure the entire building now knows that.
I plopped down on the bed and turned on the news.
'Missing Melody Hutson has been found. Sources says she arrived home this moving via an unfamiliar vehicle. The family would like to thank everyone for their help in searching for Melody. We take you live to the steps of the Hutson household.'
Seriously? They called the news and said Mel was missing? She's not 5 years old and it's not like I was going to lock her in my apartment and make her my slave. I know I was rough last night but I've been under so much stress. With Kendall bitching at me all the time about a wedding I didn't want to happen plus my father complaining about how my life isn't going anywhere.
What do you expect? I was raised by nannies. I never had real parents. My mother left me with my father when I was 3 and never looked back. I guess she ran away with another man to Fiji or something like that.
My father has always been cold and ruthless and that's how he raised me. I know I have a temper, don't remind me, it pisses me off. Yes, I know I need to work on it but old habits die hard, right?
I was told as a child that there is only one thing in this world that will make me happy. Money. Nothing else but money. Money can buy you all the love and drugs you could ever want. To be able to have so much money that you can have pretend engagements, you need to put business before love.
Shit, the company.
I opened my nightstand drawer and pulled out my IPhone. 25 missed calls.
"Fucking hell." I groaned.
I scrolled through my contacts until I reached Andrew.
"Shit got crazy here. Have Zac go to the meeting today and the rest of you make sure nothing goes wrong. Report back to me every hour. -Shawn 9:55 am"
"Got it. You owe us an explanation. -Andrew 9:58 am"
Putting the phone down on my night stand, I rolled onto my side and slowly fell asleep, dreaming once again of Melody.
