It was nearly evening and you barely peeled your eyes off the clock in your kitchen. Paige noticed your abnormal anxious behavior and giggled to herself, knowing exactly what was running through your mind while you flicked hesitantly through your clothes.
"What should I wear?" Paige asked leaning against the wall.
"Oh... I'm sure I have something for you..." You smugly smirked to yourself as you led her towards the new interiorized room. Paige followed behind you as she glanced around her new room in wonder.
"Your clothes are probably too big for me. Maybe I should stick with something I have..." She mumbled to herself.
"Hmm... why don't you look and have a pick?" You said swinging the dresser doors open. Paige let out a faint gasp and rummaged eagerly through it.
"Is... is this all for me? Did you buy this all for me?"
"Of course,"
Paige's eyes softened as she threw her frail arms around you. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"
"No worries love." You said pulling away from her. "Now get ready in ten girly, don't wanna make Jefferson angry."
"Sure thing!" Paige laughed lightly before you headed out. It didn't take long as usual for you to get dressed. You managed to slip on an elegant blue dress that went to your knees and kept your hair curly. While you waited for Paige to get clothed, you managed to pass a mirror on your way down the living room. You stared at yourself realizing what you were.
'A responsible woman. Not a child anymore.' You smiled as you thought.
Once you and Paige refreshed yourselves and made your way down the streets, to Grannies. "Make sure you're nice to him." Paige elbowed you.
"W-What? Wait... I am nice to him!"
"Not really..." Paige broke off to sigh. "You're really closed up. Even with me... You seemed like a different person in the orphanage. You smiled, you laughed. You did everything but then all of a sudden, when you mentioned him to me- everything just vanished."
You stopped in your tracks. "I'm so sorry Paige... I didn't know you thought that way."
"It's okay. You just have to try a little harder, mom." She beamed.
The second she called you mom, you knew you had to stop being reserved. You had to give everything a chance. You had to stop using Mr. Gold's name to frighten people and instead help them. You needed to be the absolute best mother you could possibly be for Paige's sake.
You tightly hugged the feeble child and continued walking with her precious little fingers woven with your own. Waiting patiently outside of Grannies in the cold was the one and only Mr. Impulsive. Your usual behavior was to ignore someone till they recognize you but today, for Paige's sake; you looked Jefferson straight in the eyes and grinned. He smiled back charmingly as he held the door open for you and Paige."It's quite a cold weather isn't it?" Jefferson asked, sliding off your jacket along with the girl's.
"Well it is winter." You laughed lightly. He laughed along before taking you to the reserved table.
Once you had all settled down, Jefferson ordered hurriedly and sat across from you. "So how was mum's house?"
"It's lovely!"
"That's good. Has she started nagging you yet?" He crooked a smile at you teasingly.
"Ughh..."
"Oh c'mon, not every mom nags." Paige giggled.
"Not what I've heard of..." Jefferson chuckled.
You rolled your eyes playfully and waited tolerantly for a waitress to attend your table. Oh hell... when the red lipped girl smirked your way, your tried your best to hide you face from the blush creeping upon them. Covering your face and looking down at the ground, you found two heels right at the edge of the table.
