queen of feasts

a/n: violence/gore warning? it's not too graphic though, at least in my opinion because i'm not good at writing graphics.

Shoo was furious when she found out about the newest addition to the Red Velvet Coven, and she made sure everyone knew about it when she arrived for her visit. Jaebum was there, and on the other hand, he was quite thrilled about her anger. Seulgi is starting to believe that his knowledge of the prophecy is starting to get to him, affecting how he behaves.

Yet, at the same time, she also feels like this... chaos within, for a lack of a better term, has always been in Jaebum, it's just now surfacing because his power is close to surfacing. It doesn't change how she feels about him, in fact, it makes her love him more. He's misunderstood, kind of like her, and he can freely be himself with her, which she's thankful for. There still is, the tiniest part of her that's afraid for him, afraid of him. They have no idea what he'll be capable of once he taps into his powers as the Dark Lord's heir. They have no idea of the Dark Lord's true purpose for Jaebum either.

"I have news," Shoo begins as she gets over the shock that Jaebum's name is indeed etched into their grimoire. "The Feast of Feasts is upon us, and Seulgi has been nominated to be Queen of the Feast, along with others from various covens. As we know, it is a great honor to be considered Queen of the Feast--"

"Right... huge honor." Jaebum replies, rolling his eyes.

"Excuse me? Your name might be in the Book of the Beasts, and my grimoire, but you are not a warlock. You have no understanding in what the path of night and it's devotion entails."

"You're right, oh mighty high priestess. Please enlighten me. Educate me on how sacrificing Seulgi because you're threatened by her is a huge honor to the followers of the path of night. Tell me how getting rid of her so you don't have your ideals challenged is showing devotion to the Dark Lord."

"You know nothing! Now I advise you to stop while you're ahead."

"What are you going to do? Punish me? Why not lock me away in the academy dungeon like you've done to Seulgi?"

"I can and will do far worse to you, mortal." Shoo spits out the word like it's the most vile thing... if only she knew.

"Go ahead." Jaebum challenges, and that's when Seulgi steps in.

"That's enough... Jaebum, please... don't do this."

"Why not just leave?" Shoo suggests, "You're not welcomed here."

"I might be in 'your' grimoire, but like you said I'm no warlock. I don't have to listen to you."

"Are you trying to prove something, mortal? All you've done so far is pissed me off more."

"Maybe I'm trying to prove to you that I'm not afraid of you? You don't spark fear in me like you might spark within your coven and other witches and warlocks. Remember, high priestess, you can pray to whomever you want, worship whomever you want, but karma is real. Continue abusing your power, and you'll be the one punished, not me." Jaebum states before turning to Seulgi, "I have some things to take care of... I'll check up on you later." he kisses her before standing to leave.

Once he's gone... Shoo's wrath begins. "How dare all of you allow this to happen. Not only did you all sit around and let him disrespect me, your high priestess... but you allowed this insolent fool to bring him to our Dark Lord and convince him to allow a mortal to sign our sacred book." She points at Seulgi as she insults her, and Seulgi just takes it.
