I turned around with his arms still on my waist. “You’re my what?”
His eyes were filled with emotion. “Every time I see you, I couldn’t help but fall. I don’t know what to do, cause everything I could think about is YOU.”
My eyes widened. Those lines were…were from—“As you entered the dome, I felt the whole world falter. My eyes couldn’t roam, my eyes were on you and no other. You served as my inspiration. I got a score, there’s no wonder.”
…Mr. Football Player
“I’m Mr. Football Player, Jendeukie.”
The silence was deafening. I looked at his eyes. “Why—how…” I couldn’t form the words in my mind.
“Shhh…” He lulled me. “I am Mr. Football Player, the mysterious person hiding behind the mascot earlier.”
I couldn’t believe that the person who gave me every piece of advice I needed every time my mom beat me up, the guy who made me smile all day long, the one who brought me back home when Kai and I broke up, the only guy who told me that I occupied his thoughts day and night, the only one who played his game for me, the guy whom I named Mr. Football Player and I readily admire, was after all, my childhood playmate and football hottie Mino.
“You mean, you knew I want milk that’s why you gave me? And you were late because you changed your clothes? And you are Mr. Football Player really?” He nodded and I thought for a while. “Honestly, I thought the football guy was Jisoo.”
“Why? He gave you a milk too?”
“Yeah. But he said… never mind. At least now I know you’re him, not Jisoo.” He hugged me. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier that you’re him? Am I that stupid not to feel or see anything?” The roses and even the football were from him too!
He pulled away. “No. I just kept it a secret Jendeukie. It worked right?”“My goodness. I never knew you’re that clever.”
He chuckled and cupped my cheeks like how Mr. Football Player did. I removed his hands because I knew I was blushing. I couldn’t believe that I was in front of my true admirer. “But Jendeukie, this doesn’t end everything right…? And this can be the start?” I thought for a while then nodded. He kneeled in front of me and said, “Now I am asking you Jendeukie will you be my girl?”
My jaw fell to my knees. “Don’t kneel please. Stand up.” I tried to pull him but didn’t succeed.
“Will you be my girl and be there for me?” I felt goosebumps as he said those words. My heart beat raced and it was the same feeling I felt when Mr. FP was around. I bit my lip. “Jendeukie?”
I was overjoyed but really, I wanted to cry. “I don’t know.”
“Does that mean yes?”
I smiled at him and pulled him up easily. “Yes Mino. Yes.”
He moved closer and I was alarmed because I knew that he’d kiss me. Before his lips came closer, I covered my mouth immediately with my hand. As expected, he kissed the back of my hand.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to intrude.” We heard a voice from the door. I pushed Mino and saw a guy. Jisoo. “I just left my handkerchief somewhere here. But I think it isn’t here. I’m going.” He said fast then he closed the door.
I moved away from Mino. “I’m sorry. I should have not done that.”
I smiled weakly. “That’s okay.”
“So, I’ll just wait for you outside okay?” He said.
I nodded and he was gone. After changing my clothes, I searched for Jisoo's hanky. I was sure it wasn’t anywhere my room. So I went to the stage and luckily, I found it.
I decided to give the hanky some other day but before I could text Mino, he called.
“Hey, wait up ah. I’m at 7-11, gotta buy something. I’ll be back okay?”
“Ohkay. I’ll be somewhere here.”
I sighed and sat in one of the benches. I was really sleepy because I slept late the night before. I was about to close my eyes when someone poked my cheek. I looked up and saw Jisoo.
“Oh, hi.” It was all I could say.
“Sleepy eh?” He sat beside me. “Here.” He offered his right shoulder. I laid my head on his shoulder. “How come you’re alone?”
I opened my eyes. “Mino went somewhere but said he’ll be back.”
We were silent for a while. “Are you two together now?”
Before I could speak a word I heard Mino’s voice and I immediately opened my eyes and looked up. “You’re there.”
“Come on let’s go home.” I nodded and stood.
“Thanks Jisoo for staying.” I said after carrying my things.
He stood. “Yeah, no problem.”
“Won’t you say thanks to him Mino?”
He moved closer and they did the manly hug. “Thanks Jisoo for staying with my girl.”
Jisoo stared at me as if trying to say something. “Yea.” He said simply. “I gotta go. I need more rest.”
We then parted our ways. Just before we rode the cab, I remembered something and ran after Jisoo.
“Hey Jisoo. your handkerchief. I found it.” He stopped and looked at me.
“Thanks.” He moved closer and got the hanky.
“Bye. Mino’s waiting for me.” I started to walk backwards but he clasped my hand. “Why?” I asked.

I walked slowly towards my waiting boyfriend in the waiting shed. I hurried a lil bit when I saw that he already called a new cab.“Are you okay? You look pale. Hungry? There’s McDo over there.” He tucked my hair behind my ear.
“No, I’m fine.” I lied.
Something about Jisoo bothered me.
Earlier that moment...
“Why?” I asked.
“Nothing.” Jisoo held my hand tighter. I raised my eyebrows, I could sense that there was something bothering him. “You look cute.” He wanted to remove the strange aura.
I chuckled. “For the nth time Jisoo.”
“You are cute.”
Before I could say anything, he spoke. “For the (n + 1)th time.”
I laughed. “I really gotta go Jisoo.”
He removed his hand from mine and looked at me. It was a different kind of stare. “See you on Monday.” He walked away and left me.
“What’s with him?” I asked myself.
