When he removed his mask, a face appeared in front of me. High cheek bone, pointed nose, brown eyes. Yea. Handsome. But add some braces and a pair of glasses to it equals…?

Yea. A handsome nerd. A handsome nerd named Sehun. The so called geek of the school year. Many girls fall for his brains and his built but as far as I knew, he never dated anyone. Who could have thought that he wanted to dance with me?

Don’t ask me. I had no idea.

Nervousness was plastered in his face. “Uh… yea. Can I be your—uh, first dance?” After that sentence, an applause was heard and some people were shouting, “He finally asked her!” or “What an achievement Sehun! I’ll treat you lunch!” I chuckled.

He offered his hand and I took it. He was harmless anyway. It wasn’t that exciting cause I had been to parties where a guy asked me to dance with him. In fairness, he was cute. But he looked cuter with his mask on. LOL.

“I’ve been dreaming of dancing with you since…” He paused. “…since God-knows-when.”  I smiled. “I like it when you smile, even if you have the mask on your eyes.”  My mask rested on my eyes only. “Crap. I pray to God that Mino won’t scold me for dancing with you.”

“No he won’t.”  It was a slow dance but there was no feeling into it, at least for me there wasn’t. After a few minutes, the song ended.

“Thanks for the dance Jennie. It was memorable.”  He led me to a table where Nayeon was playfully eating cherries.

I looked at her. “I can’t believe that geek likes you.” Sehun went away.

“He doesn’t like me. He just asked me for a dance, does that mean anything?” I asked for a wine.

“Yeah, duh.”  She said sarcastically. “Whatever. It doesn’t matter anyway, you have Mino.” She continued eating cherries and I heard her phone ring.

“Your phone’s ringing.” I said in between chews.

She looked at me. “Oh yea.”  She mumbled then talked to the phone. “Yea I’m here.”  She looked at me and mouthed something I didn’t understand. “I’m with Jennie.”  She smiled. “Oh, are you going here?” I smiled at her. “You’re here? I’m going there. No need? Okay, I’ll wait for you then.”  She hung up.

“Who’s that?” I was just curious.

“He’s---k”

“Hi girls.” With that voice, my jaw dropped.

“There he is. Jisoo.” I looked up and saw him wearing coat with a red tie. I hadn’t seen him that close, I mean just two steps apart. I pursed my lips, he looked really Hott.

“Do I pass the inspection Nayeon and Jennie?”  He smiled. “You’ve been looking at me for 10 seconds now.”

Back to reality. I got a cherry and chewed it. “Yeah, you pass the inspection.”  Nayeon beamed at him and she looked at me. I didn’t mind her and ate cherries. At the corner of my eye, I saw Jisoo sit beside Nayeon. They talked about something, maybe about the partner thing.

“ let’s dance!” Nayeon pulled me to the dance floor. It was a fast song.

“No, I won’t dance in that song.”  I pulled away from her hand and went outside. I didn’t want to hear those fast songs, they were not my type. I got a wine from the waiter and sat on the bench outside where there were only a few people. Wind blew and I hugged myself. It was cold.

Suddenly, I saw a coat.  I looked up, it was Jisoo. “You’re cold.”

I stood. “No thanks. I’m going inside anyway.” I made way inside. It wasn’t good to talk to people I didn’t want to talk to.  Especially to Jisoo. He was on the top of my do-not-talk-to-list. Besides, we had nothing more to talk about. Whatever feelings I had for him were not right.  I had my boyfriend. It was enough reason for me not to llike other people... let alone love.

“Hey are you okay? Want me to call Mino?” Cass was worried. “You’ve been looking at your plate for 10 seconds now. You haven’t danced aside from your first.”

“Oh yea, I’m fine. Speaking of Mino, I’m waiting for his surprise.”

“Haha, come on admit it Jennie, you just miss your football player.”  I smiled. It was true, I sorta miss that guy. I mean, my football player.

Few minutes passed, Nayeon danced again in the floor and I was left on my seat. I felt my phone vibrate.

“Surprise. I’ll see you then.”

I raised my eyebrow, I didn’t understand. I looked up and to my surprise, a guy with a mask stood before me. “Yes, may I help you?”  Like other guys, he wore a tuxedo and a mask, a black mask that rested above his nose, covering his eyes..

He smiled and pulled me to stand. “May I have this dance?”

“Who are you?”

He didn’t say anything instead; he put his hand on my waist and looked at me in the eye. I placed my hands on his shoulders. His stare was melting and it was very familiar. “I was the guy you met in the football field, when Kai broke up with you.” My eyes almost widened and a smile formed in my lips.

“I was the guy who brought you home and you called me dad.” I smiled at the thought of the scene. It was still vivid in my mind. “I was the guy who talked to you under the willow tree.” I smiled. “I was and still am the guy who wants to take you seriously.” His voice was soft, relaxing. I didn’t know but everything just felt right. ”And I am the guy who plays my football games for you. “ Whoever was under that mask was the one I love. The one I truly love.

“Is this your surprise?”

“It’s a surprise.” He was Mino. I believe he was it!

I rested my head on his chest and I could hear his heart beat. I felt his warm hands on my arms pulling me closer. “That heart beats for you.” Mino often told me that. It was overwhelming to know that somebody loved me.

Under his touch, my spine shivered. It was weird. Everything felt right on his arms, on his touch, on his voice. He was the right one for me, Mino, yes. “I missed you. Really missed you.”

I haven’t seen him for like days. He had his practice for football. “I missed you too.”

“This feels right.” We swayed slowly with the song. “I mean, this.”

I smiled… “Yes Mino. It really feels right to be here with you.”

His grip loosened and he sighed. I looked up and met his eyes. “Why?”  His eyes were intense and they were as if trying to convey something to me.

Slowly, his head lowered to my face. “It’s me Jendeukie…” I felt strange and goosebumps were all over me. His lips touched mine and I instantly felt the jolt of electricity I had felt when MFP and I met. I didn’t know how, why it happened. It just happened.

But above anything else, everything about the kiss felt familiar. His lips, his touch… everything. It was like deja vu.

To tell you the truth, it was like the kiss Romeo and Juliet  shared.
