It was just unbelievable.

I walked back inside the hospital room. “She is my sister?”

“I have a sister?”  I heard Nayeon say and Dad nodded. “Oh Dad, tell me she isn’t my sister.”

“She is your sister.”  He looked at our horrified faces. “I know I should’ve told you this before. I knew this would happen.”

Dad looked at me. “I met your mom in the Engineering Department in the company I am working in. We had this thing called love in between us and after a few years, we got married and you became the fruit of our love for each other…”

“But everything didn’t go the way we expected it to be. Few years after our marriage, Georgia showed up.” I raised my eyebrow. “Georgia is Nayeon’s mom. We met randomly in a supermarket while I was buying gelatin for you and I noticed that she was with a child. That child happens to be Nayeon and I found out that she was my daughter too.”

“You mean Georgia was your college fling?”

“Don’t you ever call my mother just that, you b!tch.”  Dad eyed her and so as Jisoo. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to call you b!tch. Sorry sister.”  she said with sarcasm.

“Anyway, she wasn’t just a fling. I love her but our relationship just didn’t work out coz of her parents. We had sex one night and I never thought that it would make things complicated. On the day we met, she asked me to be hers. During that time, Jennie's mom and I were having this huge fight. Many nights passed and I decided to leave and be with Georgia.”

After that sentence, tears fell from my eyes. Memories flashed in my mind. That was the last time I saw him…

“Didn’t you want to arrange your relationship before leaving us? Mom was helpless.”

“I tried but—”

“But what?”

“I just didn’t feel the love that I felt when we got married.”

With those words, I didn’t know what else to do. I just ran outside of the room knowing no other place but the hospital garden.

The revelations were too much for me to handle. Nayeon and Jisoo, Nayeon and I, My mom and my dad—these things never crossed the possible sign in my mind.

I stopped running as soon as I got in the garden. “Why the hell is this happening in my life? I can’t believe this. I found my dad and he just told me that I have a sister.”  I sobbed “—AND he even told in front of me that he didn’t love my mom and—”  I fell on my knees.

Someone embraced me from my back.

We were silent for a moment and I faced the person. “I don’t want to see you crying like this.” He wiped my tears.

“I feel horrible. I feel helpless. I feel unloved. I feel alone. I feel—”  I blabbered.

“Shhh…”  He hugged me tighter. “You are not horrible, you are beautiful. You are not helpless; I am always here to help you. You are not alone, see… I’m here and definitely you are not unloved Jendeukie, I love you.”

“But Jisoo—”

“You have to have courage cupcake.”

“I love you Jisoo”  I said all of a sudden.

He smiled like a child. “I know you do. I can feel it.” I smiled. “Come on up cupcake. I’ll take you home—”  He stopped. “—I mean to your home.”

When we were going out, “Do I look morose?”

“Nah, you are pretty.” He held my hand tight and we walked on outside not minding that there was media looking at us.

“So, goodnight Jisoo.”  I said as we reached the door of our house.

“Yeah right. Just rest, okay? Everything’s gonna be alright.”

“Yeah, thanks Jisoo” He kissed me and smiled.

“You’re always welcome.”

It was silent in our house as I stepped in. But I could feel the presence of my mom.

“Did you see him?” I was shocked. My mom sat in one of our sofas. “Did you see your dad?”

“Yeah.”  It was all I could say cause I didn’t want to further explain what I discovered. “I am going upstairs.”

“Did he tell you everything?”

I sighed and prevented the tears from falling. “He did.”

“Now you know everything. He left us with nothing.”  I believe she was crying. I went closer to her and hugged her.

“Mom, everything is gonna be all right.”

“Yes Jennie I know.”

I inhaled deeply.

“We are leaving this town next month Jennie…”
