Chapter 15

Lightfury P.O.V

I stood there, snarling and growling at the crowd around me. I was a little anxious to be seen so visually in front of these humans, but I didn't dare show weakness at this moment of time.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly announce the Lightfury, descendent of the all mighty Nightfury!!" One man bellowed at the top of his lungs. I winced all around me at the cacophony of screams and cheers that brought the arena to life. My body was braced for any impact that suddenly hit me but I remained cautious, baring my teeth with slimmed eyes at the humans around me.
A million thoughts in my mind swirled around like a Ferris wheel, I didn't know where to look or what to think. I was now prowling around the perimeter of the arena, the sawdust below my small paws grinding against my pads, I pressed close to the wall snarling at the hunter that stood in the centre of the amphitheatre.
"Disgusting two legged mouse brain..." I hissed to myself as I had my oceanic eyes locked on him if he made any sudden movements but I remained calm.
"This glorious Lightfury was found spying on our dragons, one throw of a net and the weak creature was down." The crowd lit up in roars of laughter "Now, this fabulous dragon, under tests and research, can mirror her scales to shield her surroundings." The crowd then fell in 'Oooooo' and 'Aaaahhh's' as they listened intently to his pathetic speaking. I just wanted to get the fight started but I knew there was a high chance I wasn't coming out alive.
"Now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, for the moment you've been waiting for!!" The human stepped back, proudly pointing towards the large metallic gate that protected the inside of the arena where the cages were held "The sleek Lightfury of the day will go up against...!" The crowd all edged forward intensely, watching the gate lift up as they fell into deathly silence.

The gate opened
And it revealed who I was fighting
My heart skipped a beat
My breath ceased
My eyes widened
My body tensed...

It was Toothless...

"The all mighty Alpha Nightfury!! The unholy offspring of Lightening and Death itself!!"
