Chapter 2

Toothless P.O.V

I messed up everything, she's gone!
I was stood there in panic, paralysed on the spot. Seeing her disappear into the air was crazy, where did she go? Will I ever find her again? I had to find her!

I peered into the dark, lonely forest. She went into the direction of the waterfall so I ran through, nudging and pushing the leaves and sticks in my path. I couldn't stop, I wouldn't stop, not for nothing. My eyes turned into slits of fear, will I ever see her again?...
She filled something in me, something in my chest that feels as if something she has has been ripped from my heart. It was weird, nothing I've ever felt in a long long time,
"Hello?" I called out as I skidded to the edge of the pond, I looked around quickly in case she was standing in the water, but there was no sign of her...
"Hello?..." I called out for the last time and looked around me again. My ears flopped sadly and I sighed deeply, but as I was about to turn around...
"What do you want?" A sharp, nasty tone spoke from above me somewhere. My head lifted and so did my ears, and right on top of the waterfall, she was laying, staring down at me.
"O-Oh, hello..." I said and looked back up at her,
"I said what do you want?" She repeated with slimmed eyes, she didn't look happy.
"I just...wanted to say sorry, you didn't seem happy with me back there..."
She stayed silent for a few seconds, stood up and glided down in front of me, I looked at her and she looked at me.
"I don't get you, not one bit" she scrunched her nose at me,
"What don't you get?"
"You and humans, they are horrible"
"What about them is horrible?" I frowned at her, I trusted humans a lot, well, some humans.
"They trap you, lure you in, make you fight!" She hissed and flicked her tail sharply at me.
"They are called Dragon Hunters. I live in village where everybody loves us" I smiled and sat down, "We're their companions, we comfort them and they look after us".
She narrowed her eyes slightly at me and growled, then tensed her shoulders. Suddenly she pounced onto me and pinned me hard to the floor and gripped my shoulders tight,
"They're using you, how thick are you? Humans only use us Dragons for protection! And once we can't give them what they want they exile us, and soon enough that'll be you!" She growled down at me,
"That's not true! Hiccup would never do that to me!" I whined up at her,
"Hiccup!? You've named your human!?" She gasped and stared down at me in shock, I stared back up at her. After a bit she got off me and looked away to the side, "You'd chose humans over your own kind?..." she whispered, more sorrowfully and quietly.
"You aren't exactly my kind, are you?.." I said and looked at her,
"I wasn't talking about me!" She rushed then lightly blushed bright pink, I blushed too slightly and looked away also.
"I uh, didn't mean that" I chuckled nervously, she giggled slightly back then looked at me and smiled. I smiled back at her.
