Love at First Sight

Chapter 4

Toothless P.O.V

I woke up with a startling jump,
Hiccup wasn't in front of me anymore, nobody was. I was downstairs on my own with the fire crackling weakly, I was slightly cold so I wrapped my wings around myself and snuggled back up. I attempted to sleep again but I was wide awake, with the thought of her.
I laid there thinking and thinking about her. I couldn't imagine anything else, and if I did she had to be in it. I grumbled softly and stood up shakily onto my paws and shook off slightly, my bones were aching from laying down so much so I decided to take a walk outside. It was very late at night and I was still slightly tired but I didn't mind.

I walked to the edge of the cliff above the ocean and stared down into the water, it was glistening bright in the moonlight and that weirdly satisfied me. But something else caught my attention, up in the sky there was a glowing white dot in the distance, floating around above the water. I stared for a moment in confusion and leaned over the cliff to take a closer look, but my stomach churned as I leant too close and fell off the edge. I roared in fright and hit the water below and sunk down slightly, there was a rush of fear in my blood as I paddled my way up and gasped for air when my head came above the surface. I couldn't swim well despite me being on land all the time, so I trend water there until my legs were aching and I couldn't no more.
"Hold on, I got you" said a familiar voice above me, I looked up and it was her! She grabbed me by the shoulders and lifted me up and flew back up to the cliff, she dropped me down gently and landed besides me, "not a good swimmer eh?" She grinned,
"Oh haha" I frowned and shook off all the water onto her and grinned back. She rolled her eyes at me and shook off also.
"Can I ask you a question?" I said,
"Sure"
"Why are you glowing?"
"Because it's the Lunar Eclipse" she replied and looked up at the blood red moon. She fluttered he wings and walked in a circle, prancing then lightly sitting down again besides me, I chuckled at her and laid down again and stared at the moon. She laid besides me and stared at the moon too. We stayed silent for a few moments. I peered at her when she didn't notice and admired her and her body, she was very slim and sleek, if she ever got caught in a tight space she'd be able to squirm through with ease. She also had tiny paws, I looked at her nubs then, she only had two, I was confused at that point, how old was she? She saw me looking and stared at me slightly, I looked at her then and gasped silently and looked away, she giggled.
"What you looking at?"
"Nothing, just seeing how you Lightfury's look" I said and kept looking away while blushing with embarrassment. She blushes too but giggled again and looked at me up and down, I didn't dare to look at her but I knew she was doing the same as me, she leant forwards and sniffed my back and down to my tail.
"You have all different scents on you" She said, "I can smell a female human, a baby, fish, and a burning smell" she scrunched her nose at the burning smell and sneezed. I chuckled,
"I was laying besides the fire before I came to see you" I said and turned onto my side to look at her,
"Well, you didn't come to see me, I came to see you" she smiled and looked straight into my eyes, "I like your eyes"
"I like your eyes too" I purred quietly,
She tilted her head at me at that point,
"What?"
"What did you just do?"
"Oh, I uh, purred" I mumbled and looked at her, I purred again at her. She tried to purr back,
"Oh gods that was embarrassing" she whispered and covered her face with her tiny paws.
"It's alright, you'll get it"
She softly laughed then put her head down again and we watched the Lunar Eclipse together.
