Chapter 19

Lightfury P.O.V

"Toothless.." I murmured to him when the cheering and happiness died down, looking at him through the gaps of our cages "What if you..get hurt again..?"
"Trust me...I'll be alright..." he whispered back to me with a reassuring smile, but behind it I could hear a thousand screams of fear banging on the doors of confidence. "This is a King you're talking to, besides they won't see it coming.." a small grin plastered his lips "And I know I was taken down last time, but I wasn't ready, now? I'm as ready as ever."
I sighed.
"I know but...you don't know that..do you?" My azure eyes began to glisten as my stubby ears pinned to my head "I don't want to loose you..."
"Hey..C'mon..." he reached his tail through and wiped away a tear with the tip "I know, I don't know what's going to happen, Thor doesn't know what will happen to me. But I can assure you, I'll try my best for us.." he gave me a nod again as his tail slowly slid away from my face and back into his own cage.
I gave another great sigh but nodded to him and glanced to the side. What will happen? Will we even win this fight? What could go wrong? Would Toothless die?? A million thoughts raced around my mind like a swarm of butterflies that I threw up to the side of my cage.
"Woah!!" Toothless gasped in shock and rushed to the side closest to me "Are you Alright!?"
"Y-Yeah.." I mumbled weakly "I-I'm—" aaaaand then I threw up again.
I could hear the groans and see the grimace on everyone's faces when I finally lifted my head and flushed with embarrassment. I threw up in front of everybody, even the King.
"Here." He carefully slid his bowl of water through a small slit at the bottom of the cage where they slipped our water bowls in and out "drink that, it'll refresh your mouth."
"B-But it's yours, Toothless.."
"Don't care. Take it." He nudged it to me as I gave a grateful purr and took it, lapping the murky water as the vile taste of vomit was swilled from my mouth.
"Thank you...I uh...appreciate it.."
"Anytime." He smiled for a second before it dropped as he began to pace his cage back and forth.

A few hours had passed and I took a short nap in the far corner of my cage, because the sick was in the other, and did my best to get as much rest as possible. I could hear the faint mumbles and murmurs coming from the Alpha and Slade as they discussed what was the plan for when they managed to fight off everybody.
"C'mon Toothless...give me something..." Slade mumbled, a hint of worry in his tone.
"I'm thinking I'm thinking..." the Alpha murmured as I could hear the light tapping of his claws "I may be able to reach to Cloudjumper somehow, my roar is loud enough to be heard from miles away, and Cloudjumper has excellent hearing, so maybe if I make it sound as a sort of distress signal he'll come? Well...he'd come anyways but y'know.."
"So you really think...we'd be fine on this place you call 'Bark?' No troubles?"
"It's uh...'Berk'.." the Alpha gave a soft chuckle "Of course you'll be fine, they'll welcome you with open arms...although we may have to squeeze and squash you guys in somehow but...I'll find a way"

I watched Toothless for a little while, my eyes were squinted open but neither seemed to take notice as they continued to discuss strategies. I gave a soft smile up to Toothless, it felt like I had known him for..ever.
In my mind I could reflect clearly to my brother, he was a lot like Toothless in a way. He was protective and very playful, rather childish but made a brilliant leader, his name was Silas.
I could clearly remember my sister Nova too, I missed her a lot nowadays because me and her use to be very close...We would do everything together, but ever since she..disappeared it hadn't been the same...But of course I have Silas out there...somewhere back home hopefully...
The last time I saw my brother and my parents was a few weeks ago when I left the Hidden World to go and explore, and that's when I found Toothless. I just pray to Thor my family is safe there, or somewhere...
Maybe Toothless had family somewhere? A few brothers and sisters? He can't be the last of his kind, can he? There must be one or two Nightfuries wandering this land somewhere in the shadows, lurking.

My cage was suddenly shook after a few minutes. I had fallen back asleep.
"Looks like this one has had a funny stomach." A man sniggered as he looked to the pile of sick "Disgusting little varmint, learn to try and vomit between the gaps."
The gaps are smaller than my paw? How is that humanely possible?
I rolled my eyes and curled away from them, turning my back and coiling myself once again desperate to fall back into slumber. But i was meekly disturbed by Toothless's distressed shout and I raised my head to him immediately, one of the men had stood on the tip of his tail walking passed, but all they did was cackle as they carried away my vomit.
"You okay?" I peered at him anxiously.
"Yeah, I'm good, just stinging.."
"Maybe I can help with that." I smiled and decided to use my special trick, I used the moist from the air and harnessed the water from it, soothing it over the stinging of his tail.
"Woah...how can you do that!?"
"Talent." I smirked "I dunno, I guess I'm a natural Waterbender eh?" I gave him a cheeky wink before deciding to try out some more tricks to impress him, bending water from others' bowls and forming large bubbles and putting them to the thirsty Dragons' mouthes as they slurped their water greedily. I decided to be extra cheeky and teased one of the hunters who did patrol at night, as he was prowling around our cages I continuously prodded him with a water bubble to make a spot of his clothes wet, until he was dripping head to toe.
"Alright!! Who's doing that!?" He screeched as he finally had enough, standing there in soaking clothes as his boots squelched with every step. When he turned away to look around for the suspect I lobbed a bubble of water in his face as he toppled back with a shriek of shock, making us all collapse into peals of laughter.
"Stupid dragons." He hissed as he hoisted himself up and trudged back through the door soaking wet.
"Nice one." Toothless smirked as a few locks were rattled and chains were echoing from out the huge double wooden door. "It's time..." he then turned to us all "Are you ready?"

"We're ready!!"
