"C'mon Xen! I know that you don't dislike me anymore." I whined, still keeping my eyes on the movie that the two of us were currently watching.
I'm on the floor in front of Xendrix who's sitting at the couch, playing with my hair. He's either twirling it or making all kinds of braids and to be honest, I want him to be my personal hair stylist because he is good.
But not that I won't say that out loud. What he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?
"Augh..." He groaned, gently braiding my hair again. "Please don't call me that, we're not close. Plus I don't hate you."
My tired eyes sparkled. "Really?"
I heard him laugh quietly. "Yes. I detest you."
I slumped my shoulders. "Well that's good to hear."
"Believe me. It's music to my ears."
I went silent for a moment, trying to watch the movie in front of me but my thoughts were somewhere else.
Despite chatting normally with Xendrix, like this one, I still feel like I should be mad at him.
Frustration was starting to build up in me again. It's not fair for them. They're not given a chance to help me because I'm not giving them one. For all I know, maybe only Xendrix, Daniel and Isaac know about who that woman in my dreams and the others have no clue about it. The only ones who could really let my mind at peace is the three of them. They're the only ones who could probably be able to answer some questions that are still left unanswered for me.
"Hey, are you still awake?"
That snapped me out of my thoughts.
I nodded. "Yeah, I was just wondering about something."
"That's new." Xendrix remarked with a snort.
"Hey!" I grumbled, feeling offended at his words.
"All you do is talk and talk. It's a surprise to see you thinking and, y'know, being silent."
"Were you worried?" I whispered, giving up on focusing on the movie.
"Why would I be worried of you?" He grumbled in irritation.
"I dunno." I shrugged. "I guess that I'm just used to people getting worried of me? And I could definitely hear the concern in those words." I smirked but I hissed in pain when Xendrix pulled my hair. I could hear him mumble incoherent words.
I just sighed.
"Don't assume things, brat." He said. "I'm not worried."
"Your tone tells me otherwise, Xen." I stated with a blank face.
He grumbled.
"What do you want from me, Samantha?" Xendrix said. I could hear the suspicion in his tone.
I raised a questioning brow, even though he can't see it. "Don't assume things too. I don't want anything from you, Xendrix." I said, the sudden seriousness written in our tone.
"Okay." He huffed. "Then I will assume that you want to ask me something because last time it made you shut your mouth when Dan answered your damn question."
I turn around and stared at him for a while. It's my chance to ask him. He's giving me a chance to ask him about that.
Fear and anxiety started to build up inside of me. The room was starting to grow cold yet my hands were sweating.
He was staring back at me, his irritation swirling in his eyes. He's impatiently waiting for my question.
